Most noobish moment you've ever had.......

Finally talked to Rampage over the phone years ago on my birthday. Well long story short, this was a few months b4 Rampage's Lindland fight in the WFA, Rampage told my friend he was gonna break the law. My friend asked "Why you gonna go and break the law, Rampage?"

massive facepalm

I was in Montreal at a hotel bar and met up with a guy who works for Blackhouse. We were talking and he mentioned how Anderson and Ed Soares were busy doing some TV shit for the fights the next day (i guess the guy worked directly with Ed regularly)

I looked outside the bar to the lobby area and said "Oh weird, there's Anderson's interpreter" totally unaware that it was Ed who did all the interpretation after Anderson's fights. I felt like a LesNoob

Ingo Weigold - I was in Vegas earlier this year to interview the Team Takedown guys (Hendricks, Roller, Rosholt) it was my first interview and we just started the podcast a month before. There were actually two boob moments:#1 I sat with the guys through 15 mins of discussion and questions before I realized I forgot to hit record on the damn camera. How embarrassing that was to ask them to do it again. #2 during the entire interview I kept pronouncing Marc Lahman's name wrong. I gave it some sort of French twist. None of the guys corrected me either. As I'm leaving the gym feeling happy about the stuff I got on tape Marc comes up to me and says "hey dude, its lay-mon". I was super embarrassed but he laughed it off, in fact all the guys were way cool. Here is the interview if you want a good laugh http://mmanuts.com/podcast/interview-with-team-takedown/ <img src="/images/phone/post_tag.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

I remember that Interview, it was good. But I guess it should've been after already having a run through, lol

Hey thanks, I think the first take was actually better and I learned never to give the mic up to the person I am interviewing.

fan since ufc 3, but my noobish type moment was...

in 1997-1998 my school wrestled against our rival down the steet huntington beach, and tito's name was on the wrestling room wall for state champion and I got the chills because it was the same locker room tito used...also we saw tank abbott at our wrestling tournament one time and were too scared to talk to him lol...this was 12 years ago when I was 16 and tito was winning fights

the good days lol

About 12-14 years ago in high school when I was wrestling, I was for one, probably one of the only ufc fans at school and two, I was always running around saying how wrestling was the best style for fighting. So one day this Asian kid tells me that he trains jiu jitsu and apparently he was pretty good. We wind up in an argument as far as whats better, wrestling or jiu jitsu, so I challenged him to a grappling match in the wrestling room and we invited all our friends to go watch. As soon as the match started, i took him down with ease and was just manhandling him around the wrestling mats but after awhile I realized I didn't know any submissions. So then I decided to put my hands around his neck and basically give him the old rape choke. That lasted for a good 5 secs untill he quickly put me in a painful armbar that took a couple weeks to feel normal again. After the incident no one at school believed much of what I said about fighting or mma...pretty embarrassing. Phone Post

 I have a couple...lol

well first one was, at one time I thought Marcelo Garcia, was actually Marcelo Gracie..and he was a part of the Gracie family...but the person mispelled his name on the video i bought. haha took me a little while and some investigating to realize I am a dumbass

and 2 from interviews...when I started writing for the magazine my first few interviews where done through email (Amir, Tim Boetsch, James Lee, Thomas Denny..guys like that) well I get my first phone interview and its with MayheM Miller. Not the best choice for your first phone interview especially at nearly 1:00 am (which I think he may have been drunk)....well, have way through the interview he decides to start telling me about how he only trains in his back yard by kicking banana trees while naked asian girls feed him grapes or something like that, how his dad beat him up in a parking lot...it was getting awkward and I was starting to mess up and decided to start wrapping it up. He proceeds to tell me about Tom Cruises penis and asking me to take off my pants and shirt while talking to him...I got flustered and was just like..well thats all i got. thanks...and I hear people cracking up in the background of his phone... by the wayTHANKS LOCO for setting that one up..haha. I havent interviewed him since. I need to though, now that I am a little more seasoned..

For my first in person interview/s I went to ATT CC for the day after Thiago Alves invited me while I was on vacation in the area and started looking around to see who was there...I already had  a list of names in my notebook (of a bunch of ATT guys) and my recorder ready so when i saw them I could pull them aside and get a few questions in. Yves Edwards was sitting next to the wall next to Luigi Fiorvanti and I walke dup to him first...was a little nervous, being my first in person interview..so I walk up, introduce myself turn to the page with his name on it..and start asking questions. After I was done he points at the page and says..Im Yves Edwards by the way. For some reason I went to Din Thomas in the book, thinking it was him..although I knew it wasnt. nerves got to me or something...lol

Some of these are awsome,

My personal experience was when I was in basic training, (first of I'm in the Canadian Military) and it was winter we were freezing our ass's off on the rifle range, and all these land rovers come pulling up, I'm waiting to use the port-a-john and somone taps my shoulder (foul mood from the cold and basic taining, and not sleeping for a couple days) so I spin around and scream WHAT! and some french civilian says "uh iz soooomone in dare?" so I say of course thats why I'm waiting out here. later my friends let me know that, I was lucky to be alive as that was GSP asking me the question.

So needless to say I apologised and got to hold his belt this was just after he won it from hughes. He's a big patriot and goes out to the bases to say hello and do some impromptu autograph sessions for the canadian troops.

was at the Hard Rock Casino in South FL for some fights, this is around 2007...afterwards i'm creepin around and see some Brazilian fighter lookin dudes, i go up to the biggest one and say "hey man, what's up, who are you again?"...the guy looks at me like he wants to kill me then realizes i'm just a dumb idiot casual fan and says "Murilo"...so i get home and find out it's Bustamante...

UFC 98, I wear my fight shorts and walkout jersey to the weigh ins, Chael Sonnen in jeans and t-shirt looks at me and goes, "hah, first ufc fight hey?"

a friend of mine was working at a sonic. he wasn't too familiar with the sport. A tapout bus pulled up and someone got out and ordered. My my friend was sent up into the bus to deliver the order. He walks in and there is punkass and skyscrape. He has no clue who they are, he looks at punkass and says "are you guys wrestlers or something?" Punkass responds with "do you wanna fight?" my friend was like "no" and just left. i about shit myself when he told me that.
