Cung isn't a big 185er, he fought a lot of fights ar 180 and under, And1 would have a huge reach advantage
People wanna see Sonnen solely cuz of Sonnen's mouth and the desire to see Anderson shut it.
I personally take Andersons word that he was injured he didn't look the same in that fight.
That Said 5 Fights I'd Rather see for Anderson over Sonnen.
1. Hendo at 205
2. Shogun
3. Jones
4. GSP Superfight
5. Rampage
Manhoef would stand with Silva, but his chin has passed it's expiration date, Mousassi is the only 185er who could match skills and chin with Silva standing, Gegard said he would fight at MW again
I said at 185, maybe you can throw in bob sapp in the ball pit at chucky cheese
WallySparks204 - Hoe about Cote rematch. He was the first person to get out of the second round against silva in the ufc.
Also semed to have no problems standing his ground and throwing punchs back at silva.
I for one would love to see that fight again
You mean that fight where Anderson danced around for two rounds and made Cote look like a clown before his knee gave out in the third? Silva would either destroy him(like he was planning to do in the last two rounds of their first fight) or spar with him for points.
I'd like to see Silva go up to 205. A superfight with Bones could sell well if JBJ can get through Rampage and Rashad because honestly, I can't see GSP beating Silva.
A fight with Cung Le would be fuggin great. I think Silva works him but I'd pay to see it.
Jardine!
The most interesting fights lead him to the LHW title.
liquidrob - Not saying these guys would beat Silva, but they're the most interesting match ups based on the way they fight IMO, this is at 185, 205 opens up way more choices of course
3. Sonnen - Easy match to make, basically Chael blew what would be one of the greatest wins ever by letting his guard down and getting triangled...
He didnt let his guard down, Andy cracked him good from his guard and Chael starting covering up, went on the defensive.
Why does EVERYONE overlook this?

4. Hendo - He won the first round against Silva, than started standing and wanging, got caught and choked out, Dan would have to be disciplined enough to stick to takedowns, top control, wall and stall, etc...to win it, he has the skills, the fight would be better at 205 for Dan, but he wants this rematch and will do it at 185
He "won" the first round against Silva.
Then started doing what he always does.
Dan does has never really fought in the style described otherwise needed. Does he have the skills? Once on the ground, he does not unless he drops and hurts Andy first to finish with GNP. His pure GNP or subgrappling offense is pretty much non-existant.
His style is made for Andy.
I do agree that Jacare and Paul Harris are more aggressive and better td BJJ guys than Maia.
I know he got cracked before the triangle, he did let his 'guard down' and paid for it, punch, stunned and triangled, it didn't happen for for rounds before that
Of course Dan can do it, he did it for a round already, he used some of it against feijao, it's just a matter of sticking to it for 5 rounds, he obviously has the skill set to do it
Mine in order
1. Bones Jones, he's the second coming of Jesus Christ himself.....
2. Shields- he looked great against Hendo, has an Iron chin and a great grappling game
3. Sonnen- answers alot of questions, was Anderson hurt? Did he troll everyone for 4.5 rounds? Or is Sonnens nonstop pressure, strong mind and great MMA wrestling what really did it in the first fight (I think Anderson gets into your head and beats you before the fight starts; Sonnen thinks hes p4p #1
4. Shogun: great striking, awesome game plans; an all out war
5. Machida- counter striker vs counter striker: interesting match up IMO
5b. Since clearly Machida and Ando are teammates and friends Michael Bisping: why? You ask, because 1) it shuts the ukTT up, 2) I like watching Bisping get beat down 3) He'll have to start all the way from the bottom
5c. We all know Bisping will never get a top5 fighter and never a title shot, so Rashad Evans @185; I think he has the wrestling to do it
I put most of the 205ers lower only because id like to see what he does with guys around his own weight
No striker has a chance.
Jacare or any other wrestler/BJJ fighter.
"Filthy" Tom Lawlor has the rasslin and standup to be competitive with Andy... I just revisited the Lawlor V. Cote fight and think Tom's heavy top game would be fun to watch at the highest level.
Lorenz Larkin in 2 years
I really like Hendo and would be interested in Sonnen, even though I think 2nd time around would be way worse for him.
ednzo777 - so many Jacares but no Shields
hello people Shields main ability is beating guys with no TDD. He has the chin of henderson
That was Okami's game supposedly.. Just because you can take people down doesn't mean shit.. This is Anderson Silva-- if punches aren't well placed that transition into TD's, the TD will never happen.. Not only that but Anderson will rape him on striking
At 185
