NAAFS Grappling Series

The North American Allied Fight Series (NAAFS) has teamed up with three of the area's premier submission grappling tournaments to form the regions first ever sanctioned grappling series.

The Midwest Grappling Open (Independence, OH), Ohio Grappling Challenge (Pickerington, OH) and Evolution Grappling Challenge (Erie, PA) will make up the 2008 NAAFS Grappling Series and will host a total of 7 to 10 NAAFS sanctioned tournaments in 2008.

Along with internet, radio and television coverage, the 2008 NAAFS Grappling Series will rank competitors based on results from series events. The series will run under unified rules and scoring with updated results and standings to be posted on NAAFS.tv. Highlights from select tournaments will be aired on Sports Time Ohio.

Pre-registration is now available for the series first two tournaments of the 2008 NAAFS Grappling Series including Midwest Grappling Open which will kick off the series on February 16th in Independence, OH.

Here is the link with info and registration - http://naafs.tv/news/mgo2.htm

Free T-shirt and discount to compete for those who pre-register.

This will be a RANKED event and is listed on MMA.tv's events page.

This tournament will coincide with the NAAFS Caged Fury 4 MMA event which is scheduled for the same evening in Cleveland, OH (just 15 minutes north of Independence) as MGO competitors will earn a $10 discount on tickets to Caged Fury 4.

Here are some matches from my last OGC in August 2007:

Josh Souder (BJJ Purple Belt & Pro. Fighter) vs. Mike Feahr (BJJ Brown Belt)

Jeff Searfin (BJJ Brown Belt & ADCC Competitor) vs. Tristan Yunker (Pro. Fighter)

"get your arm out of there!"

Now that was a nice piece of coaching.

Nice vids! Cant wait to get this series rolling.

It was so exciting too. I could feel the energy. The crowd was really into it.

That's a great affiliation. NAAFS runs some of the most sportsmanlike MMA fight shows I've ever seen.

gorilla,

How many "super fight" grappling matches have you see in person?

I have been to more than a few...and even when there is 1000 people in the gym...being quiet is the norm in most cases.

I have been to over a million superfights. None of which were very super. Jk.

I have always thought that wrestling and grappling need something to make the sports more viewer friendly. They are boring as hell. I am a coach and I actually HATE going to see my own kids wrestle due to the length of time between their matches.

Hey when can I get a copy of mine and Dan Swifts super fight that we did last year at his tourny?

thanks Chad Washburn

email Jake@naafs.tv and he should be able to get you a copy of that vid.
