The North American Allied Fight Series (NAAFS) has teamed up with three of the area's premier submission grappling tournaments to form the regions first ever sanctioned grappling series.
The Midwest Grappling Open (Independence, OH), Ohio Grappling Challenge (Pickerington, OH) and Evolution Grappling Challenge (Erie, PA) will make up the 2008 NAAFS Grappling Series and will host a total of 7 to 10 NAAFS sanctioned tournaments in 2008.
Along with internet, radio and television coverage, the 2008 NAAFS Grappling Series will rank competitors based on results from series events. The series will run under unified rules and scoring with updated results and standings to be posted on NAAFS.tv. Highlights from select tournaments will be aired on Sports Time Ohio.
Pre-registration is now available for the series first two tournaments of the 2008 NAAFS Grappling Series including Midwest Grappling Open which will kick off the series on February 16th in Independence, OH.
Free T-shirt and discount to compete for those who pre-register.
This will be a RANKED event and is listed on MMA.tv's events page.
This tournament will coincide with the NAAFS Caged Fury 4 MMA event which is scheduled for the same evening in Cleveland, OH (just 15 minutes north of Independence) as MGO competitors will earn a $10 discount on tickets to Caged Fury 4.
I have been to over a million superfights. None of which were very super. Jk.
I have always thought that wrestling and grappling need something to make the sports more viewer friendly. They are boring as hell. I am a coach and I actually HATE going to see my own kids wrestle due to the length of time between their matches.
