Aoki's hype is based entirely on the people he has beaten, as opposed to the dozens of MMA fighters who are massively hyped based on what people think they could do, despite having actually achieved very little.
He has wins over JZ, Hansen (x2), Shaolin, Hirota, Kikuchi, Alvarez, Uno and Sotiropoulos and yet anytime his name is brought up against a half decent opponent half the forum predicts he'll get "smashed." I'd say he's underrated if anything.

good fight...Aoki via controlling i think, Nate wouldn't differ to standing i think , he isn't afraid to go to the ground where it would stay, however like a cobra, Aoki just wraps around your body and in frustrating fashion wills his way to dominant position.
Only real threat to Aoki are heavy handed guys with some grappling knowledge or great sprawl and brawl.
