Need Refs and Super Fight for St. Jude Benefit

The 9th annual Grapple for the Cure to Benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital takes place on Saturday, May 6th at Buchanan High School in Clovis California. What started as a small, in-house tournament has raised over $60,000 for some very sick kids!

As always, we will have divisions for Pee-Wees, Kids and Adults (Gi and No-Gi). Also, the No-Gi Absolute Division is submission only, and the winner will receive a minimum of $500. Break Point/CK Fight Life is generously sponsoring this division, and past Winners have included Davi Ramos, Jimmy Friedrich and John Salter.

We are accepting donations and competitor sign-ups (links below), but due to continual growth we really need additional referees, preferably brown and black belts that know IBJJF Rules (no advantage points). Also, we need a very game 155 pound competitor for a super fight against a darn good brown belt, gi or no gi. We can reimburse limited expenses, but for obvious reasons we try to keep costs as low as possible.

To learn more or get involved you can message me through the UG or leave your contact information on this thread. You can learn more about the event here: http://rgjjoffresno.com/offers-view/gftc2017/

About St Jude Children’s Hospital: Each day at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, more than 260 children are provided with complete and total medical care. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. Additionally, St. Jude is consistently rated as one of the top charities in terms of putting donations directly in the hands of beneficiaries instead of padding the pockets of administrators.

If you are unable to attend the event but want to donate you can do so here:

We are also accepting items for the silent auction and raffle which has become a huge part of the fundraising...So far we have every thing from fight gear, gi's, a Derek Carr autographed jersey, a Coach purse (always one of the top items lol) and assorted gift certificates...so if anyone has a hook up let me know!

I've had a few buddies compete in the tournament, and they love it. Sorry I can't help or compete, but I will advertise it to my buddies just North of Fresno.
