I think the UFC should judge there fights differently
I think they should judge on damage and close finishes instead off octagon control and takedowns.

What is a close finish? Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
I completely agree.
Not only would the more deserving fighters win but the fan appeal and entertainment value would go through the roof.
The way things are now is that if fighter A and fighter B face off and:
B lands some decent strikes standing and blocks a takedown
A gets the takedown while defending a close guillotine from B and stalls.
B throws up armbar and kimura which are defended as well as almost makes it back to his feet
A stays on top throwing body body head and eventually works to halfguard as the round ends.
Rinse and repeat for 2 more rounds and A wins the unam dec despite having accomplished next to nothing and never having done any damage or come close to finishing B.
B is basically penalizing for trying ANYTHING since if it doesnt finish the guy it seems like its worthless.
