Right now, other than a few big names who get flat fees, most fighters get a minimum for the fight and an equal amount if they win: 20,000/20,000
I think it would lead to more exciting fights if it was changed so you got 20,000 if you lost or won by decision, but 50,000 or 60,000 if you finish the fight.
In the case of the champs it would mean a difference of a few hundred thousand dollars which would encourage them to continue trying to finish in the 4th and 5th even if they were way ahead on the scorecards. I'm thinking of GSP and Anderson's fights with Maia and Leites.
I'm especially curious to hear from the green namers...which system would you prefer?
