Just a news update.....
I've had conversations with Tiger Muay Thai (Phuket, Thailand) for about a year, with hopes of training with them on a more regular basis.
I've had great success in training there, usually as a pre-season type phase and finishing the last 6-8 weeks in Australia where I'd made my home for the last 5 years.
On this last trip, I was able to come to terms that suited both TMT and myself -- and have been made the Head MMA Coach. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to continue my coaching career, whilst also advancing my MMA skill-set.
Here's an interview I did, the day after signing a contract with TMT.
Looking forward to enjoying more and more time in Paradise! And having an impact on the progress of a great number of student-athletes.

are you staying in Thailand? best of luck with the new opportunities!
DanTheWolfman - Congrats Brian,
You should probably put a link, and what it costs to like go live in train there for like 2 weeks....now that you are there, I would consider going....maybe I can get Ryan Bow to do another Thailand trip with me.
Most the training areas are still under Big Tarps right, so you are in the shade? This is super important to the rare photosensitive Werewolves out there like me.
Check out www.tigermuaythai.com for information on prices, accommodations and training programmes!

Just to set the record straight. Professional MMA fights are banned in Thailand. However, both amateur MMA fights and MMA training are still very much allowed and practiced.
ender852 - long live the Hairrow!!Second'd
Brian!!!!!!
Sweet, going there for a week in may!
ttt
Dan,
Training is done in the shade, yes. There are tin roofs over the top of each of the 6 rings and the Cage. And we have an indoor grappling area (temp. controlled) and an indoor weights facility.
I estimate a $1000 - $1200 budget, for a month of training. But there could be some circumstances that see that budget lower, and of course -- anyone can blow out their budget and spend a million baht if they tried.
Low living costs with the added prospect of doing your Christmas shopping at 20% of the cost, compared to a US/UK/Aussie shopping mall, make Phuket a very worthwhile and cost-effective destination.
See you there!
Congrats man!!
Hup! Hup! Hup!
Oh-oy!
