They did nothing to address eye pokes with these. Not even mentioned in the article. It talks about being better for preventing glove grabbing, which isn’t even much of an issue, but nothing about eye pokes.

Duncan French got up there and lied his ass off…the guy is a joke. He was saying “you can’t change the gloves without changing the sport”…“you can’t irradicate eyepokes from mma”…“our research shows they don’t occur very often, they only happen 36 times a year since 2019, so it’s a small number”…
Meanwhile there’s gloves already designed to stop pokes on the market. All this guy did was put a tracking chip in the glove for authentication purposes and gave them special colors lol. Straight up snake-oil salesman

Just get rid of them. How many hand breaks do they actually prevent? The impact is the same.
