I don't think he can get to the UFC, or hang with UFC guys if he does make it. That's not a knock on the guy...tremendous respect for everything he's done. I especially love that he fights with massive heart when he gets in trouble.

He is a great local/regional fighter but he is always “matched” appropriately. Any moderate level wrestler with good hands destroys him.
He is a good story though.

There's some matchups being thrown around that do make some sense. Lol. While I stand by what I said earlier, I do want to clarify...I'm rooting for the guy. And I'd love to see him get his shot in the UFC...but I just don't see him being successful at that level unless they use some creative matchmaking to make sure he has a fighting chance

UFC doesn't have to be all that creative to tell Newell not to cut weight, go to 170, and get a guaranteed win against CM Punk.
Nick’s a good fighter, but there are way better fighters out there that aren’t getting the call. 155 is the deepest division in MMA everywhere. Since he’s fighting in LFA he should fight their Champ Rob Watley next.

He just fought at a 165 catchweight.... He’s a 14-1 Pro with his only loss coming from one of the top LW’s in the UFC... mentioning his in the same sentence as CM Punk is embarrassing. He’s missing an arm but he’s not competing in the fucking special Olympics
