His head.

He had all the talent and ability to be the greatest mma fighter ever. Just a headcase sometimes

I attribute that to his sister going missing back in 2004 and I can't hold that against him in any way. https://www.instagram.com/p/BcU8c1eFdZo/?utm_source=ig_embed

Ultra talented, with both strength and speed.

His fight IQ went up a lot as he got older, TRT Vitor is the final boss in any game.

He was a headcase before his sister disappeared

I can’t think of anyone else who utterly manhandled prime Tank like that.

The way he threw Tank when Tank had the whizzer was pretty crazy lol I remember Vitor lighting him up but damn man throwing Tank around was not a common thing

Tank kinda fell himself there. You can definitely see that Tank was still physically much stronger when he went stood up from the initial fall. But Vitor was too fast and too agile.

shen - I actually remember seeing Vitor, right after he came to the U.S. He was this skinny kid (I think he was 17, but could be wrong) He was warming up a group kickboxing class at Redwood's Kickboxing (that used to be on Venice Blvd in L.A.). Someone told me "He's one of the Gracies." I was like, Oh, wow... OK.

Next time I saw him was his first walk out and I was like: WTF… that’s the same human being???

Hold on Shen, youre implying that Vitor came to the US from Brazil and hulked out here? That’s wild, I just assumed he and Arona had the same dealer back home.

Holy Techno music!

He was one of the scariest dudes on the planet, always exciting. When he had that push late in his carrier it was crazy to watch, they should have just let him stay on the sauce.

lol @ the GSP pronunciation

You're thinking about Cole Konrad.

Can I still make that joke?

i remember when the dude debuted and everyone was flipping out over him.

Randy shocked the MMA world.

Randy pissed me off! At the time.

I thought Vitor and Chuck were going to rule the world...

Saku

There should be a cheat code to unlock TRT Vitor in the UFC video game.

give prime vitor some EPO and his biggest weakness is cured

Sounds like an ordinary person with an extraordinary talent, Id say he did pretty well considering. He did manage to fight at a pretty high level for the better part of a quarter century, lets not kid ourselves how it would have been just so easy to do so much better.

Good post. With how much people talked about his lack of heart and fortitude, he made it surprisingly far for a REALLY long time. He showed he could get through adversity and came back after losses over and over again.

It goes to show how much he dedicated himself to training and just how talented he actually is/was.

I was totally ok with TRT Vitor

In the goat discussion. Last guy I'd want to fight too! The fucking Jesus shit and the cross shaved into the his head somehow made him even scarier too, haha

Because nobody wants to fight a God-fearing man who is coming to put the fear of god in YOU.

Exactly. He was kind of a Lanky/trim guy. I never talked to him, but the guy I currently reach with,John Ouano (who made the gloves for the UFC) was training with Carlson Gracie, Vitor & all those guys in that backroom at Redwoods during that time.

John's gis were the shit!

Lmao I just wish that Mike Goldberg read that line back in the day.
