Sage Northcutt suffered the first loss of his career at UFC on FOX 18 when he was submitted by Bryan Barberena, but posted on Twitter today a positive message:

On Sunday night, Northcutt gave his first public words since losing to Bryan Barberena at UFC on FOX 18 on Saturday in Newark, N.J. Northcutt tweeted a video of himself holding a basketball and riding on a hover board.
"Hey guys," Northcutt said, spinning the basketball on his finger. "Thanks for all the support. I'll be back soon."

At the end of the short clip, he shot the ball and it clanked off the front of the rim. The people with him laughed.
Did he ever say he was the best in the world like 90% of fighters on the roster.
This kid had a fight at a local show... Dana happened to be there when he wins. The UFC offered him the world and he said yes. (Like ANY of us would).
I'm not sure what people expected. I'm surprised by anybody who didn't already understand that he was green and will develop over time. Faulting him personally for taking advantage of the opportunity presented to him is crazy.
MMAjustice - I fully don't understand the Sage hate.

Two reasons. They want him to be paid less, and they don't appreciate non world elite, level fighters being brought in to the UFC. Granted, there's about 300 of them who don't belong, so go figure.
Sage seems like a nice enough kid, but we either don't expect the best fighters in the UFC, or we accept it's not the best and we accept everyone. That seems to be the direction they've opted for with the women's divisions and many of the unknowns who make up the roster.
The hate is misdirected. The UFC/ZUFFA are the ones that signed him, gave him a marketing push, and also pay him. The sad part is it's not even like the guy gets paid much for being a pro athlete that's been pushed as a rising face of a billion dollar organization.

This. Don't hate Sage because he gets paid halfway decent money. He doesn't even get paid professional athlete money. It's just that most UFC fighters get paid shit, but that's not his fault. That's the fault of the UFC, and the dimwits that agreed to get their skulls softened and likenesses stolen in exchange for peanuts.
I love how we bitch about how the UFC overhyped him like they are the ones that made all of these Sage threads over the past 3 months and accounted for all the views they'd get.
lol @ that vid, that kid really is every Saved by the Bell character minus Screech. I'm genuinely pulling for him to not have a hundred mutilated cat corpses under his house.
