Well...my laptop is REAL slow today (I think Thomas & Co have secretly infected me with something through the interwebz) but I've just checked my email & the UFC customer support are apparently looking into my refund request & will let me know via email within 48 hours so I'll keep you posted. I'd urge anyone in the same boat to also request a refund.
And Kirik, thanks for the offer...that's very generous. Top man. Lets see how it pans out.
ttt
timesquare, don't hold your breath...
I finally got them to say they would escalate it for a refund last night, and this morning I received the following email:
---
Thank you for your inquiry!
We were experiencing technical difficulties with the stream due to power issues at the event location. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
The event archive will be available shortly after the main event has concluded.
TTT for this to get sorted...
Similar things happened with that Pro Grappling event with Randy vs Jacare. Everyone got full refunds and I think that killed the whole promotion sadly...
Can I edit the title? If it was a smaller org and I thought it would put them in jeopardy I probably wouldn't bother. Its the UFC though so come on, & to be honest its their initial (too quick in my opinion) refusal & kind of arrogance that has got me annoyed. It kind of flies in the face of their usual fan-friendly demeanour. The Co & Main event was unwatchable live. That means a refund! Simple.
I clicked on edit thread title but nothing happens...a mod maybe?
Dear Paul,
We apologize for the technical difficulties with the live stream of the UFC Fight Night: Florian vs Gomi event on Wednesday, March 31st.
The interruption was caused by a power outage at the venue that was beyond our control.
Nevertheless, and as a gesture of appreciation for your support, we would like to issue a full refund to you for your purchase of the event.
In addition, we would like to remind you that you can view the complete archive of the event is for an unlimited number of times for 7 days on ufc.com/live.
We appreciate your business and your loyalty and we thank you for your continued support of the UFC.
Thank You,
UFC Customer Support

So, it wasn't quite the 48 hours that they stated (more like 5 days) but it appears that in the end someone with half a brain dealt with this...
Thanks again to Kirik for your kind offer earlier, but logic prevailed in the end. I hope everybody else got refunds as well.
at least they made it right
Lets hope so. Maybe the UG played its part as well with the negativity created from the thread. No organisation likes to be seen in a bad light by its customers. And now that I've just found out from another current thread that Dana lurks here quite a bit more than I would have thought I'm sure it was DFW himself that got this sorted (yea right!).
