What do you recommend for someone that's not a complete beginner, but still in the beginning stages of BJJ? How much time spent on technique training and how much time spent rolling?
Would you recommend anything different for the various stages of progression, such as complete beginner, intermediate, seasoned, etc?
Personally, I think that beginners should spend about half their time with technique and half their time rolling. As a person becomes more advanced, I think less time is spent with technique and more time with dive action drilling and rolling. With the black belts I have trained with, I have never seen any of them doing hundreds of static repetitions.
