How do you rate a GOAT? By their achievements at the time or their technical skills in hindsight? Now I think there is a debate to be had here, so open to opinions on that.
Also a great point regarding styles, you have to have taken on all comers, with all sorts of styles. This is what guys like Fedor, Anderson, GSP, Aldo and Jones have done. Merely beating them or making a couple of title defences does not elevate you to their level.
Once again, this is about what a fool Rogan is and not a knock on Max, who is certainly shaping up as an all time great and has a great style and attitude.

Aldo had already been ko’d and had more mileage on him. History has shown that a fighters chin weakens after the first real ko loss they suffer. Now max might still beat a prime Aldo, but that doesn’t mean he’s the greatest FW of all time cause styles makes fights. A prime Edgar or Mendes could be a very tough fight for him. He’s never fought that style.
Jones looked unbeatable against everyone except Gus cause of his length. Even OSP gave him a very tough fight cause of his length.
Silva easily ko’s guys like Vitor and Griffin yet he gets dropped by wrestlers like sonnen and Weidman
GSP was on a 30 round winning streak till he lost 2 to jake shields. Shields who is supposed to be a terrible striker actually outstruck Gsp in the last 2 rounds. Then you have the Hendricks fight.
Mcgrgor was a bad match up for Aldo. But Edgar is a bad match up for Conor, while Aldo is a bad match up for him. Mendes is also similar to Edgar. Holloway would probably have more trouble with Mendes or a prime Edgar. If max loses to one of them, can you really call him the goat FW?
