PFL Chairman Addresses The Possibility Of Signing McGregor

PFL founder Donn Davis was recently asked about UFC megastar Conor McGregor.

“The Notorious” has been very vocal about his frustrations with getting his long-awaited UFC return booked. At the moment, McGregor has just two fights left on his contract to fulfil. Once he gets through them, he’s free to explore other options if he wishes.

For now, however, his highly anticipated matchup with Michael Chandler continues to be elusive.

‘We Now Have The Capital To Do Anything’ - Donn Davis

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Donn Davis was asked about Conor McGregor’s current situation. While the PFL head honcho avoided outright expressing interest in signing “The Notorious,” he did make clear that the PFL has what it takes to work with big-time stars on a huge stage.

“Well, not addressing Conor per say, just addressing any fighter, you know, whether it’s Jon Jones, Conor McGregor, anybody,” Davis said. “The market understands that we now have the capital to do anything, anything. The market understands that our desire to think differently, is unlimited, and the market understands that our partners want to stage the biggest fights in the world beyond anything that’s been done.”

Davis made clear the PFL is doing just fine with its current roster and resources. However, he also suggested that the budding MMA promotion is an open door to stars interested in joining down the road.

“So, we don’t need anything that we don’t have to make the biggest fights happen, with the biggest fighters, on the biggest stage,” Davis said. “So anybody that is interested, whenever they’re available, we’re ready, and we’re the most creative, and the most aggressive and we’re the most interested, so that applies across the board.”
