Possible $8 Million Payday For Conor vs RDA - Fox

Good article overall, worth a read Phone Post 3.0

Funny thing about Conor's red panty night talk, is that for every fight the biggest panty night happens at his place.

shogunhoohah - Didn't he make 10 for Aldo?
From article at the link:

Forbes broke down McGregor’s KO of Aldo, with the estimate that he gets $3-$5 per PPV buy. They projected these figures against a low buy of 1 million and a high of 1.5 million: meaning he made between $3 million and $4.5 million from PPV on a 1 million buy, or $5 million and $7.5 million on a 1.5 million buy. Using both the highest dollar and highest buy figures, McGregor would have made $622,000 per second in beating Aldo.

I find it really weird all the talk about Conor like he's the biggest star in the sport, when Ronda sells more PPVs and has vastly more mainstream recognition.

The motherfucker's a genius.

Knows how to market himself & his fights. He's single handedly taken the UFC to another level. He has literally changed the game.

Conor's a special type of person.

He's raising the bar for the entire roster whether he speaks for them or not.

I don't understand your reasoning here. The guy has brought more attention to the 145 division than anyone before him and we are now seeing that spotlight follow him to 155. Even his past and potential future opponents recognize what his notoriety is doing for them.

He could clear 40 million if he fights 4 times in a year when you throw in sponsors. Pretty insane when you think Nate Diaz may make 100k in same year. Phone Post 3.0

Isn't this a super generous estimate?

I've never heard $3-$5/ppv thrown around before...especially on international PPVs. No way anyone gets $5 out of a $20 ppv lol.

Plus it's also tiered is it not? Like $x for per ppv up 500,000, $y for every ppv between 500,000 and 1,000,000 etc.

But I obviously don't know contract details...just sounds off.

Still making bank though I'm sure. Phone Post 3.0

You are not wrong but there are other sources of income... like those 10 million dollar gates he keeps bringing in.

Or the Irish TV numbers for his fights that must be twice the regular UFC numbers over there...
