Predict UFC 223 buys

350k MMA isn't what it use to be and I think a lot of these higher figures are viewed from the hardcore MMA POV.

Khabib on Russian TV will do some crazy numbers

Esss free in Russia. I watch most my fights “from Russia”

matchtv

I know i'm just stating the viewership on it will be high.

I would be shocked if it goes anything over 450k.

I have seen zero promo, and zero buzz outside of this forum.

I love the main event, but they kill the card with the girl fight slotted in there as the co main. For those that actually like the girl fights, that fight just took place and this is an instant rematch despite the champ having been overwhelmed and finished (forced to tap out from punches).

There has been very little promotion for this event that I’ve seen and I live in Vegas. The conference call they did was terrible.

A glorified junior high school yard argument is essentially what they gave us. I had to turn it off less than 10 minutes in. It was just so bad. 325 k buys and I’m being generous. Tony last did a reported 115k here in Vegas when he won the belt. Khabib isn’t going to add much and a couple girls certainly aren’t either. This thing is tanking.

Wrestlemania is the day after. You can see mania for free so there is no fear of that cutting in. Problem is NXT is the same night also. That being said I’m excited as fuck for this card. Show does 400k anything close to 500k is a fucking major win.

We will see how it does now with Max. I was going to ask for a SN bet as Tony vs Khabib would do way over 325

We may still have an opportunity to see it depending if there is any truth to the April fools day announcement. I’d be open for a screen name bet. How much is “way over”?

I’d expect the buys to drop significantly from 325k for Max. I for one am not too interested in seeing him smashed from pillar to post.

I’ll take over 399k and you take under, 1, 3, 6 or 12-month bet, you name it.

They said its trending around a million. I say 900k...

From a mma fan perspective, it is a great card. Main and co main are solid. There are real solid fights down the card. Cept for rawlins.....

That being said. If you are not an mma fan. You dont know who holloway or khabib are. They are not a lesnar, rousey or mcgregor. I reckon it will pull maybe 500k

FWIW in predicting buys for UFC 223:

Holloway has main evented three UFCs. He's not a big draw, even with a solid co-main.

Khabib has never main evented. He co-mained once. No idea how his fight helped the buy rate.

According to Tapology:

  • UFC 206, Holloway vs. Pettis: 150 K buys (Cerrone vs. Brown co-main, also: Gastelum vs. Tim Kennedy on main card)
  • UFC 218, Holloway vs. Aldo: 230 K buys (Francis vs. Reem co-main)
  • UFC 212, Holloway vs. Aldo: 200 K buys (Gadelha vs. Kowalkiewicz co-main)
  • UFC 219, Khabib vs. Barboza (co-main): 380 K buys (Cyborg vs. Holm was main event)

I'm guessing UFC 223 might do 275 - 325 K buys. No real reason, other than the co-main being a fairly interesting re-match. Khabib vs. Holloway isn't a big PPV draw by itself, in my opinion.

240 K

any offer of a bet is off obviously now, complete shit show

Still think if Khabib fights it will be over that but who knows now

Yeah it’s all screwed up now. No telling what this show will do. It could do 100k, it could do 900k. No idea.

They have switched a ppv over to a free show before in the past because of several last minute changes have they not?  I just don’t understand why they aren’t doing it with this one.

Because you still got two titles on the card, and it will still sell a lot of PPVs.

Not to mention pulling cards off PPV is NEVER a good idea as far as relationships with PPV providers goes.

Just the way the four feature fighters bring it…Intense greatness.

UFC 223 "Conor Cageside"</p></blockquote><p>775-850k</p>

According to MMAFighting.com: Somewhere between 260 K and 350 K buys:

"The earliest preliminary indications on pay-per-view estimates are indicating it as the second largest this year, trailing UFC 220, which is estimated at 350,000 buys, but beating the Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya numbers, which were estimated between 210,000 and 260,000."

LMAO that the year is 30% over and the highest PPV number is 350k.
