PRIDE 33 Diaz vs Gomi

Iirc correctly the fight was at 160 or 165. Nick had a lot of weight over gomi. Was a great card and fight. Kind of a dick move for nick to hold it longer after the ref stepped. Even funnier how NDA wasn’t watching mma when this fight happened but is chiming in.

I think there were 2 or 3 failed roid tests in the other Pride they did in the US

Eets an Army

Gomi didn’t take the fight seriously and was seen at a casino in the early hours of the morning. I recall a reporter asked what he thought of Nick Diaz and he didn’t know who that was…

Gomi beat the living shit out of Diaz, then gassed horribly and barely made it to the end of the first round. Very entertaining fight, though.

It’s a shame most people don’t even know that figjt happened. I didn’t even know myself until I saw it pop uo on my YouTube feed one day a couple years ago.

Love how butthurt these Pride FC fan girls get. Nick Diaz walked into your promotion and beat their best LW while stoned off his ass too. Imagine if he hadn’t been high during the fight he would have won even quicker

Nick 5 minutes before the fight

Nick 2 rounds later

Great Fight! Gomi touched him a lot in the first round but damn, he looked so sloppy by the end of the round. Glad that most fighters have grown past that and now have their pace/cardio in a better place. I would have loved to see a 2nd/3rd round just like the first. Too bad Gomi was a limp noodle by the 2nd

Do you think Pride conducted the tests themselves?

That was NSAC and Kizer, not Pride’s revenge for Gomi, lol. Pride had nothing to do with it besides holding a show in Nevada.

Nah son, he just don’t be from Warren n shit, dog.

As long as you aren’t arguing with people who were there about what it was like.

Gomi took the fight seriously enough. He fought as he’d always fought to that point and couldnt put Diaz away. Nick took Gomi’s Sunday best haymaker like a hit off a bong, recovered and pieced him up. IMO Diaz would have beaten Gomi 10/10 times and i freaking love Gomi. He was just not very technical and gassed out quickly

And Nick is a natural MW. Don’t forget that either.

Comoon, lol! Don’t act like you we’re following this sport when this happened, hahahahahah! What a tool.

Massive Gomi fan

The first ufc or any combat sport I ever saw live was ufc 47. I’m tact Diaz Lawler was the first fight I ever saw. It’s not a coincidence that Nick & Chuck have always been my two favorite fighters

Diaz Gomi came after that. But no I did not see that one live sadly

I love Gomi and Pride in general.

Being a shooto champion when Gomi was put him solid top 5 at 155 even then.

But if there’s a universe where he beats Nick, I don’t think it’s this one.

He was a non weight cutter, decent wrestle boxer, but not exceedingly technical.

Nick is bigger than him and better at everything other than wrestling.
