I understand the reality of PVZs position. I do agree that athleticism is a must. I think PVZ is athletic but also agree that she needs to toughen up. I suppose my point was the hardest things to teach come natural to her. For that, my stance is that her technique will improve and she already knows the feel in the cage. She certainly needs lots of work and has to wholeheartedly dedicate herself to fighting. That means the looks and features become less of a priority. I don't know but I think she has the tools to recover, train, and be great. With that said, there are lots of great points on this thread, especially the one that mentioned lots of mediocre fighters have heart. So, it may merely be a belief but, I think she has the raw materials to be great.
I don't know man. There are lots of tough people out there. What she showed was that someone of a similar age was far more skilled and talented than her.
I was almost disappointed that none of her coaching staff or the referee didn't stop this fight at an earlier point. She was clearly outmatched and because of her tenacity and pride almost got seriously injured. Someone needs to protect fighters like this who would rather leave with a broken elbow than tap.
There's no reason this fight needed to go past the second round really.
I can agree with that
Has even 1 mma fighter in the last 10 years who's main ability was heart even get a title shot? When someone knows you have either a good chin or a lot of heart things aren't looking up in the fight game.
We also need to remember that there is going to be an influx of talent in these women's divisions over the next few years. Nearly everyone will be easily supplanted as the talent pool becomes richer.
mada - Couple more fights like that and she will no longer have a taste for fighting. You see her looking at the TelePrompTer between rounds instead of listening to her corner? She's a pretty young woman and very concerned with getting her face busted up. She's lucky Rose started doing more grappling and less striking or she would have been wrecked.Well i couldn't agree less
dermotfix -And... are you going to try and refute any of it?mada - Couple more fights like that and she will no longer have a taste for fighting. TFK Bro Lo El Cuñado -But she got dominated in every position, for every second. Paige had not even one bright spot in the fight. I'm not saying she can't be great, but I don't understand what about last night would suggest that?GeoDim -You clearly didn't watch the fight.
I know you're trying to be positive, but what have you seen that makes you think she will be great?
HeHitsMeBecauseHeLovesMe -If she was so concerned about her face she would have quit. TFK Bro Lo El Cuñado -This i can get behinddermotfix -If you truly want to be the best, an ass kicking like that can be a great motivator.mada - Couple more fights like that and she will no longer have a taste for fighting. There it is. Her next fight will be telling as to which way her career goes because as you said an ass kicking like this can be as massive motivator and make you re-evaluate and rebuild.

This...they'll give her somebody more her level but it should be alarming 3 years i her skill set looks so sloppy.she works out with elite wrestlers and got taken down at will bjj looks about a blue belt level her striking looks sloppy and her takedown defense is pretty poor. 2incher hit it in the head about the chin and heart.
Felice looks really bad now, considering Paige dominated her.
Right Hand JO Power - Felice looks really bad now, considering Paige dominated her.
Was actually thinking that myself
TFK Bro Lo El Cuñado -I can't tell whether you're being serious or not. Being able to take a horrible beating = future greatness?GeoDim -You clearly didn't watch the fight.

i kind of agree. i didnt think there was any solid point to stopit though.
like JDS vs cain 2-3...cain was firmly smashing him but jds landed a shot here and there enough and was able to escape positions just enough to get beat up some more.
i think JDS got beat down worse, but i think he also provided considerably more output then PVZ at any point in this fight. she just got drowned by a fighter better at everything. she didnt need to get "clipped" or make a mistake, she just got beat up. that head an arm takedown looked just as bad when misha whiffed 19 of them on ronda.
JDS took a worse beating, but he wasn't as throughly dominated.
AnotherDecision -You're right about their not being a solid point for the ref to stop it. Maybe he could have stepped in on the second armbar where here elbow looked dislocated (I don't think it actually was). I'm more thinking about a slaughter rule or something like a tech fall in wrestling.andrewwarner - I don't know man. There are lots of tough people out there. I agree with what you said about jds. It's a little more difficult to stop a heavyweight fight because it felt like there was always a chance jds lands that one punch. I think the chances of pvz landing a one hitter quitter were about 1 percent if that.
I think the coaches of pvz (or any fighter in a similar situation) need to step in and say "that's enough for today" when their fighter is totally outclassed and using their heart and determination to just get themselves hurt much worse. I do think jds' coaches should have stopped him against Cain too and i was happy when bj's coaches stopped him against Gsp even though he got a lot of unnecessary crap on this forum for not fighting "to the death." bj would have gone out, but his coaches stepped in and saved him from having to say "I quit" which is what a coach should be in the corner for.
