Question on taking a point

Watching the WEC (I know it was in Canada) the other night I saw Chris Horodecki get warned an easy 6 times in the first 2 rounds for fence grabbing.

My question is,
what is the standard for taking a point on fouls?
Or is there one? Ref's discretion?

My thinking is that 1 warning, then a point should be the rule.

thoughts?

There are those spelled out in the unified rules, but each commission can address it differently.  Nevada's rules have specific wording that a ref can take a point at his own discretion.

It's good to see people at least asking and starting to become more concerned with the rules.  I'm gathering up all the athletic commission rules to compile them in one spot so people can reference them by state, and so there's not so much confusion.

Unfortunately, some states don't publish specifics like this, or even scoring criteria at all, like California.  The least we can do as fans is make a conscious effort to understand the rules and how they vary.
