                    <blockquote>

Rashad Evans appeared recently on Monday's The MMA Hour and talked about the potential superfight between Anderson Silva, and his former Jackson's MMA teammate Georges St-Pierre.

First he discussed St-Pierre's comeback performance vs. Carlos Condit.

"I thought it was outstanding," said Evans. "Right out the gate, he did something to Carlos which really changed it up from the beginning. He put him on a black line, that outside edge of the cage. And he kept him on that black line, pretty much kept him on his heels the entire time. It's really hard to mount an offensive attack when you're on your heels and you're backing up. That was something Georges did right out the gate. The only time he did get in trouble, Carlos was pushing forward and he got caught with that left high kick."

Asked if St-Pierre has a shot against 'The Spider', Evans was unequivocal.

"Oh yeah, I definitely think he has a shot against Anderson," said Evans. "One thing about Anderson is this right here: Anderson's a great fighter, but one thing with Anderson is that he has such a problem with defending the takedown. And then on the ground even sometimes he allows people to advance position way too much."

"You see Chael Sonnen, the second time he fought him," Evans continued. "He took him down and before the round's over he had him in mount. You get a guy like Georges St-Pierre in a position like that, Anderson may not make it to another round."

"You know [Silva]'s going to get taken down, but what it comes down to is does Georges have enough razzle dazzle in order to get in to take a shot? And I say 'yes'".

"I think Georges beats Anderson, yeah," he said. "I really do."

Edit.

some spider fans will slam hashad for his observations, but they are not as ridiculous as his mustache. gsp has a better chance of beating anderson than he does of beating marquart.

I'd rather see Rashad vs. Anderson.

" one thing with Anderson is that he has such a problem with defending the takedown."

Didn't they say Anderson has the second-highest takedown defense rate in the UFC?

Hashad makes a pretty good argument for his boy, Buuut that's his boy. He isn't exactly without bias. Phone Post

Title should have been "Hashad thinks GSP has enough Razzle Dazzle for Silva"

I think I'd rather see rashad vs silva at 185 to be honest. Phone Post

Yeah...Silva has horrible tdd...just ask Bonnar. Silvas tdd is way better than it use to be.
Im not sayin gsp cant get Silva down. But I still think silva finishes gsp. Phone Post

This

Rashad is my favorite fighter, but he is dead wrong here. GSPissant's takedowns will get shrugged by a much larger Anderson en route to getting TKO'ed. Rashad at 205 or 185 is one of the last few that I think could possibly give Anderson problems, but his chances are slim as well. Phone Post

i have no doubt that GSP can take Anderson down but what then??i dont see GSP finishing Anderson ever...on the feet GSP will get butchered..GSP has no chance standing with ANderson so he has to shoot in on him...Anderson will eventually catch him with strikes and end him..

GSP takes Anderson down at will and dominates him at 170.

At 185, Anderson may stop 1 and holding him down will be much tougher. Anderson KO ability will be at full power at 185. So this will be a dangerous match for GSP at 185.

Rashad also said that he was going to hold Jones down and dominate him. Didn't turn out well.

Sounds like hype and just looking after his boy Phone Post

GSP takes Anderson down all fucking day. Phone Post

he will make it look easy....GSP has been out wrestling collegiate wrestling stars in the WW division for YEARS...people are letting these silly weight classes cloud the obvious...

.GSP will take silva down, the only difference between GSP and Sonnen is while GSP will give up some size and strength he has much quicker takedowns and way better BJJ...he wont get subbed from the bottom..

Can GSP avoid the KO? That is the question

Title should have been "Hashad thinks GSP has enough Razzle Dazzle for Silva"

I'm just surprised it didn't read, "Rashad thinks Silva is a terrible fighter, doesn't stand a chance against any wrestler.....".

Rashad knows how incredible GSP's wrestling abilities are. If he can hold down LHW's, he can hold Silva down.

The only thing left is Silva's amazing striking. GSP will have to prepare extensively for that. GSP has the speed and athleticism to survive Silva's striking.

I just like that he said razzle dazzle.

Interesting observation.  GSP hasn't stopped anyone on the ground in 4.5 years but he's going to stop Anderson?  Rashad can't possibly be serious, this has to be simply for the purpose of selling people on GSP actually having a shot at Silva.

Entreri - Rashad knows how incredible GSP's wrestling abilities are. If he can hold down LHW's, he can hold Silva down.

Condit is a sloppy striker and he couldn't avoid those strikes !!!! AS will make Gsp knock his self out !!!! Phone Post
