I find it funny people just assume that because Cain and Shane put a whooping on Lesnar that anybody with better striking will naturally knock him out. You're forgetting the other half of the equation, the one skill that enabled both of those guys to stay standing in the first place: takedown defense.
Junior dos Santos hasn't shown us any TDD except for the Gonzaga fight. He was easily taken down but showed great hips and got back to his feet...against Gonzaga.
I'm not saying Lesnar will beat JDS, but would I be surprised if he did? No.
And who was the last superior striker Lesnar beat? Mir, Herring?
should be a toss up
he sure cant take em like Big Roy
Also agree with the OP, I have heard alot about JDS great takedown defense but it's hard to tell when he hasn't fought a wrestler like Cain or Lesnar. I'm pulling for JDS but would not be surprised if he Lesnar is able to take him down at will and get the UD or a TKO.
It's a two way street. I have heard 'Lesnar is obviously just going to wrestlefuck him.' and I've hear 'Dos Santos is going to KO Brock hard.'
The funny part is the people who dive into one camp or the other, not taking into account that this is a fucking fight.
jct71 - And who was the last superior striker Lesnar beat? Mir, Herring?
Carwin
Carwin hits hard but is in no way the striker JDS is. And Carwin takes that rematch anyway.
RavenFighter - Funny how?
like a clown.

JDS has 8 TKO's
2 of them were cut stoppages
Carwin has 3 KO's, 4 TKO's (none stopped by cut) and one submission listed as punched (wtf?)
Carwin is as dangerous a striker as JDS, with more power.
JDS will make this a brawl and Lesnar will be broken....again.
The "what striker has Lesnar beat?" crowd is getting abused in here. There's absolutely no way of ignoring Shane Carwin. He is without question the most powerful puncher in the sport and he did not render Lesnar unconscious.
THAT is a problem for JDS.
Carwin and Cain were also competent wrestlers who could keep the fight standing and JDS is not. THAT is ANOTHER problem for JDS.
JDS is not the most dangerous striker Lesnar has fought, as technically superior to Carwin as he is. It's irrelevant if he can't stop Brock from getting him on the floor.
Which brings me to another question: what FIGHT has JDS demonstrated a dangerous ground game? (forget the thing that holds your pants up)
LOL at using Carwin outstriking Lesnar as a reason JDS wont. Sound logic there. I agree we havent seen JDS' ground game yet but we HAVE seen Lesnars atrocious standup now 2X in a row. We have also seen his terrible reaction to getting hit 2X in a row.
You're forgetting Brock reacts like a schoolboy when getting hit and turns into a ballerina. Much easier to learn a sprawl than to teach a guy not to run from a punch.
I agree entirely with OP, this is a close one to call because JDS has not been tested at all.
Lesnar will put almost anyone on their ass. JDS will KO almost anyone on the feet.
I'm intrigued.
Here's my question to you:
When JDS starts unloading strikes and Brock immediately changes levels out of instinct, how confident in JDS are you that he can either:
A) knock Brock unconscious before he gets the takedown (when not even a harder puncher could)
OR
B) he can stop Brock's takedown altogether?
I'm really curious to see what evidence you've seen from JDS' fights that gives you hope that 1 of those 2 events WILL happen.
brock is going to get fucking smashed by JDS

You are correct, IF JDS decides to punch Lesnar's arms for a whole round. But, if he decides to do what Carwin did with the first shot (graze, and I mean graze, that chin) with his punches....maybe not so correct.
It's a little bit of the old school striker/grappler match-up. If Brock can get him down and establish position, he can do huge damage in a hurry. However he looks like he's never been hit before in his life when someone actually tags him.
In the case of JDS, I'd say his quick pop-up against Gonzaga is more impressive than Brock's running away and barrel rolling after taking a punch.

Look him up JDS will be ready
