Remember these incredible prelims?

UFC on Fox: RDA vs Cowboy for the LW title.

Ngannou made his debut in the first fight of the night.
Next Luque had his 2nd UFC fight.
Headlining the early prelims was Usman vs Edwards 1.

On the main prelims, Valentina Shevchnko made her UFC debut and Charles Oliveira headlined them vs Jury. This was still a year before Charles would move back to LW.

Five future UFC champs on the prelims.

Later in the night, after he beat Johnson, Diaz would hit the promo that led to the Conor fight, Overeem would KO JDS and then RDA defended his title with ease.

You don’t see five future UFC champs on the prelims of UFC Fight Nights very often. I’m actually not even sure if it has ever happened outside of this one.

The old cards were so much better. The entertainment aspect of the sport is declining.

The UFC was far better 10 + years ago.

Pretty solid list.

A lot of the ‘it was better’ is because you grew to know standout fighters. A fight tomorrow has a lot of fighters you don’t know.

Eleven PPV’s a year, totally stacked, no tv deals

Yup this free card was great…

No. It’s because the UFC did not have to fill a quota for X amount of cards a year. So the fighters were better and the cards were way more stacked. Sometimes less is more.

There is like 730 fighters on the roster now.

Pre covid or pre ESPN it was like 350-400 and I pretty much knew everyone.

How many people do U recognise or remember fighting from tomorrows card?

Out of the 20 fighters on tomorrows card I know this many, (circled in pink)

How many do U guys remember seeing fight?

Dinz the Glory kickboxer

I notice they’re doing an even 10 fights on more and more cards lately while it’s usually 11-14. That would be a good number for all cards. Could probably cut 100 people.

Good card but tbh we were already years past the golden age by then. It wasnt anywhere near as bad as now and Conor and Ronda created a lot of buzz, but we were already at 40+ cards a year, WMMA etc.

Yana Santos use to be Yana Kunitzkaya, she married Thiago “Marreta” Santos

And this will blow Ur mind…

SHE HEADLINED A PPV !!!
