Oh... But that different
ttt
I forgot all about that. Good point
"Why you bringin up old shit"
Lol.
That's true OP. good point
There is a slight difference in that Sonnen's back-to-back losses came from Anderson Silva. Losing to a dominant champion isn't the same as losing to a challenger for the interim title. Otherwise, op makes a valid point.
nick diaz lost to a contender not GSP... Chael lost to Anderson after winning 5 of 7 rounds. There is a difference between the 2.
Really, the UFC could have accomplished essentially the same ratings goals without the backlash if they had just placed chael and rampage as coaches and allowed jones to fight the next guy. there's a bit more payoff with featuring jones but they would have not faced some of the backlash from the hardcore fans and media on this.

So if he loses to JBJ, he could move up to HW and fight JDS for the title since technically his last three losses were to AS x2 and JBJ. We shouldn't hold that against him right?
edit
OP
where have you been.... do read anything at all?
DW is rewarding people for stepping up and fighting on a moments notice.
it is quite simple.
AND Chael will get alot of rating for TUF.

Sweet, so Bonnar gets a title shot at JDS next?
Just joking. Bonnar doesn't have that WWE pizzazz all the kids are into these days.

The quote speaks for itself. No follow up commentary needed.
bornop -Nick won't play the game, Chael will.
This is a very big part of it.
I think it could be a case of just letting Chael fight Jones now instead of risking him in some other tough matches at 205, that if he lost would definitely leave the UFC with no way of spinning him a title fight.
It makes sense; cash in now while they still have an excuse, then have Jones (after he more than likely wins) go on and fight the legit contenders and prolong his stay at LHW.
Either way, I'm looking forward to it.
