Hi UG. I'm typing this to you on a train as I sit and reflect on what just happened to me 5 hours ago.
So I started taking the Gracie jiu jitsu online classes about a year ago with a friend of mine. We would train together every week or so after watching the videos on my computer. Everything was very easy to understand and we felt like we were learning a lot. Now last week my friend and doing partner came down with the flu just 24 hours after we got an email saying we were ready for our blue belt exam. Now this is where things took a turn..
With my buddy sick with the flu, I had no one to take the exam with. I was so eager to obtain my blue belt a impress my friends I scrambled to find a rolling partner to send in my exam video. Everyone seemed to busy to help so I acquired the help of my ten year old brother. What could go wrong right?
Well we set up some mats in my room and started to film our roll. Have him in my guard and slap a triangle on him causing him to yelp in surprise. My mom comes running into the room to see what all the commotion was about and sees my brother struggling to get out of my triangle. She screams not knowing what is happening causing my dad to run into the room. My dad yells "Steven what the hell are you doing?" I release the triangle and my brother comes to my defense saying "its OK dad Steven is teaching me about bjj's.
So hearing this my dad flips out and starts beating the shit out of me. Try using my Gracie jiu jitsu but he is too strong. Now I have a black eye and am on my way to Atlanta to live with my aunt.
