I love that story, but I was surprised and disappointed to find out Anjo had an 0-5-1 MMA record. Even Takada had a couple of wins, after all (although they very well might have been works).

There's a lot of posts from guys who trained directly under Rickson (like UG member Gordon Hester) who actually watched the tape with Rickson himself. Not trying to hijack your thread just wanted to point you to a source of wonderful, amazing info on the subject.

Yeah ive never understood the hype about this mysterious tape.
Every fight ive seen of anjoh, he gets pummeled.
I have respect for him for going to the academy for the fight but he was egged on by throngs of media.
Its my personal opinion that the fight was just a simple one sided beatdown and wouldnt live up to the expectations that people have of that tape.
Add the fact that Rickson wont release it unless he gets a certain amount of hits on his website just turns me off to it.
Its Ricksons tape and he can do what he wants with it and if he wanted to do it, he would have years ago even for a profit.

Well, I have to respectfully disagree. Modern MMA is really a different beast than self defense. Even Rickson said that his JJ would not be adequate to always win in today's MMA. Being in Rickson's guard would be a very dangerous place to be in either sports JJ or a real fight. But in MMA you would be winning the fight by just being on top.
