In the future I’ll stick to posting threads about the latest innovations in ways to hold the lapel, pant leg, tail of the go etc, and score points in an IBJJF tournament, since apparently articles like this are not very relevant to modern day BJJ practitioners.

Go into any BJJ school in the US and ask 10 random students who Rickson is. I’m willing to bet 2 would know and those two would either say, father of Kron or the guy on Jocko’s podcast.

It is absolutely sad. Rickson was our motivation in the old days. I was a teenager, he a grwon up man fighting in Japan. What an iconic time and honestly it is fu… sad to see that father time win over our childhood heros. I had the chance to train with him in 2012. He was full of life I would´t have expected that he will be so sick 11 years later…
