WIth Cyborg that sweep is such a mind fuck. You think you need to get your base down and boom you go flying and end up in a reverse triangle!
Does anyone know the correct way to defend this?
Look for Cyborg's DVD to be released very soon. Posture is always a good defense to the sweep. Head control also shuts it down. If you watch the vid above you can see that as soon as Marcello lets go of head control it's on.
Been using this sweep for over 10 years now. Saw Shaolin using it in the Brasilieros and Mundials back in the day. More important than head control (since some moves require you to take the arm out) and before you get caught in the sweep, you have to avoid gettin g across his chest and high on his armpit. Notice how Marcelo inches upwards and it's not until he gets close to the armpit and has his weight high and across his chest that he gets swept.

cyborg do the same move but from the half guard. For me it's impossible because from half you have the op's weight on you and it's harder to escape the hips and turn from there, especialy if the guys is controlling your head and arm. Anyone knows more details about this? thanks

Actually my DVD was called Tornado Roll, not "Twister Roll", but I'm sure you already knew that.
Like I said, look for Cyborg's instructional DVD to be coming out any time now. I know that he has already completed all the filming and it is in production now.
BTW, his DVD is called "Tornado Guard" so don't get confused and buy the Twister DVD.

Same sweep. Sometimes it's smoother and sometimes it's not. Just depends on high you get the guy up on your chest and how he shifts his weight.
