Ronda Rousey is one of the few UFC stars that can carry a PPV event on her own, but at UFC 184 will take the co-main event slot. A middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort will serve as the event's main event and Rousey is more than happy in her co-main event slot:

"It has always been a dream of mine to fight at Staples Center, and so that is the silver lining," Rousey said. "I always want to do the Staples Center, I remember they days when I was cocktail waitressing and I was watching the Lakers play on TV and being like, man, I wonder if things would be different if, like, Luke Walton walked in here and asked me out and I would never have to cocktail waitress again. I was sitting there on a shady bar on Crenshaw thinking like, if the third-string player on the Lakers asked me my life would be different. And now I'm going to be one of the headliners at the Staples Center, it's pretty ridiculous. It feels special, it really does."

While much has been made of the fact Rousey is taking co-main event billing instead of headlining the show, she says this is a non-issue.

"Oh no, not at all, If I could be co-main the rest of my life, I'd love that," Rousey said. "Do you know how much less work I have to do as the co-main event?"

Uhhhmm... so why doesn't she then?

Well it's her 3rd time being under weidman, who so far has had much more success as a ppv headline, and I do get that he has faced Silva twice, and Machida.

They also always go based off weight class for belts.

The event will also flow way better this way, Rousey beating Cat within a round can be a spectacle before the potentially great fight between weidman and belfort.

^ well she's been through so much over the last couple of years, and while she did beat miesha fair and square, she did lose the first portion of the fight, same with against nunes, and if she starts slow against Ronda she'll probably get flipped.

I just checked and that quote doesn't exist, try to google it and the only thing that comes up if your post. Please explain who said it.

Dana has said she is one of the biggest stars in the sport and that is 100% true, you can argue she is the biggest based on the amount of non traditional MMA press she gets.

The one PPV she has headlined got great numbers but now they using her fame to bring attention to other fights also. This card will get a lot more press then most cards because she is on it.

Oops meant to quote you on my last post Phone Post 3.0

Smart on the UFC's part- they can keep sticking her in the co-main slot on the biggest cards, then point to PPV numbers and claim Rousey moves the needle. Phone Post 3.0

haha

Well God Bless her soul. I am happy she is happy.

Marrying Luke Walton would still better her life financially.

Heck the Horsewomen could all move in his guest house. Phone Post 3.0
