He tried for a kimura and got in trouble or he could have stayed on top/side for the win.
Shiloh -andre - The ref in the Nam Phan video is one sexy motherf'er.
looks kinda like curious george imo. with awesome calves.
Curious George is a handsome bastard.
Beautiful jiujitsu right there. That is one huge motherfucker.
Unfortunately, there are very few people who could imitate his game. Him and Jeff Glover are the Nino and Roleta of this generation of BJJ.
Fabes - A majority of Ryan's videos are online. Check em out.
I have been posting a series of their videos. Why do you feel the need to chase people from my threads m/fer ?
^lol

FYI, this here thread on this here website is considered to be 'online'.
IN THE FACE!
12 - ryan is 1 cool cat,i seen him triangle himself.
lol
Daniel repeats that story, I doubt it tho.
How did Hall/Frank Edgar go?
Ryan is a great competitor, coach, and training partner. In his early competitive days he relied a lot on the triangle, but has since developed a very diverse and complete style. He's been recovering from injuries for a while now, but I'm anxious to see him competing again in '09!
I rolled with him last week and his inverted guard is sick and very hard to deal with.
HELWIG - How did Hall/Frank Edgar go?
The first time, Hall 2-arm triangled armlocked him in about 25 seconds.
The second time, Hall triangled him and Edgar picked him up and was DQ'ed after slamming him. There's a video of it somewhere, I think.
I watched both of the matches--they happened at Grapplers Quest shows.
I love how people here come and ask " what good black belt has he beaten?" Ryan is a beast, plain and simple.
impressive videos
Joe Rogan -bombshelter -var so = new SWFObject("http://www.youtube.com/v/b-59WlghKYM&hl=en&fs=1", "postVideo-24417681-Flash", "425", "355", "9.0.28", "##000"); so.addParam("allowScriptAccess", "samedomain"); so.addParam("allowNetworking", "internal"); so.addParam("wmode", "transparent"); so.write("postVideo-24417681"); vs. Nam Phan
That was really impressive. I couldn't see how he set it up from that angle.
What is this, "fist in the neck" technique?
I looked at it again. It appears that Ryan uses a version of the meathook to set it up.
kao - 300lbs? the emails i get from Lloyd Iriwn says 200lbs.
so how much did that fat guy really weights? or it doesn't matter cuz Ryan will triangle anybody anyways?
dude after seeing the guy you honestly think hes only 200lbs?
ttt

true story zip,1 leg behind the head and locks it up with the other.i have alot of respect for the guy,win or lose always a good sport and gentlemen
NorthFromHere -OK, I see. He finishes it with that. I thought it was a part of his set up to get the leg free and across the shoulder.Joe Rogan -bignightmare - Fist in the neck to finish the triangle No Gi is a mutha fugga. It hurts and if done right cuts off blood flow. Javi does this like its religion.
Is there a video of this anywhere?
Ryan does it in this vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWIXyX_2L8Y
Basically you just push your fist into the side of your opponent's neck and cut the blood flow. The triangle cuts off the other side. I use this all the time when the opponent wraps his hand that's inside my triangle around my leg to defend.
