No, he was the one who did nothing but block the guard pass. Attempting one half assed spin kick, one half assed sweep and one half assed leg lock when Rodrigo went for a stomp. At least Rodrigo was working to improve position when he was on top, and when he was on the bottom he did more than just try to stop Sakurai and actually looked to do something himself.
If Sakurai wants exciting fights, maybe he should try to be more aggressive rather than wait for his opponent to impose their game on him.
Crosley will win this fight. The only people who think Sakurai will win are the ones who;
1) Think he's still the fighter he was 4 years ago
2) Havn't seen Crosley

Im sure that since I like the gracies and are defending them im going to be called a "nuthugger", etc. But I just enjoy watching skilled fighters fight thats all. I guess you cant say you like certain fighters otherwise you are "nuthuggers".

Well, maybe Sakurai should get good enough to sweep or submit Rod and then he could have made an exciting fight. Or maybe he should become a better strategist and get better at takedown defense. He sure let us fans down by not making that fight exciting. All he had to do was be alot better than he is.
Sakuari will win this one. He seems like he wants back what he once was----the best fighter on the planet. He is not a boring fighter, bottom line.

Rod doesn't have to. He was winning inside Sak's guard and he went on to win the fight. It's like saying a boxer who wins decisions with quickness and fast punches without much power should learn how to ko guys. If it works and gets wins, that's all that matters. I just hate when people discredit someone's victories because they may have gone about them in a less than spectacular fashion.
I personally feel that some MFS guys are boring. But they win. I may not love watching Matt Hughes alot, but what he does works and it's up to his opponents to stop him from imposing his will. When guys say, "This guy is scared to stand with me and he'll make it a boring fight,", it's basically another way of saying, "I'm not good enough to keep the fight in my element so i hope he fights stupid."
Fighters care about winning and if they complain that the other fighter fought boring on his way to victory, then it's the loser's fault he wasn't good enough to impose his game on the other. Sakurai's the one complaining about Gracies being boring. So it's up to him to be good enough to keep the fight in his element and make it exciting.

It's kinda silly to make a bet based on something subjective like that, isn't it? Exactly what determines "boring"? You'll no doubt say it's boring while the guy you're betting will no doubt say it was exciting.
At this stage of the sport I wouldn't want to have the last name of Gracie and be a young blood... talk about pressure!
