Unless someone paid him to make it a majority decision, that's a pretty pointless thing to fix. I'm guessing he wrote the score too early and changed it after Woodley's late flurry.
He's the only judge that actually got round 2 right

Then you casually dropped a bombshell. You think a judge might have scored a round with more than 15 seconds left in it? Wtf? In a sport where a fight much less a round can change at any give second, you think a judge would score a round before seeing all 5 mintues... WOW
I had Wonderboy winning 1,2,4.
It's clear to see there's a 9 written there and then obviously it's been changed to an 8 after the flurry at the end. Even so, it's bullshit from all 3 judges. No way Woodley won that fight. He won rds 3 and 5 only.

I've seen it happen. Not at that level but in a small boxing/MMA show. One of the judges had written the score before the end of the round, a fighters corner saw it and blew up at him.

It is a 10 point must system, where the winner gets 10 points and the loser 9 or less.
If there is no clear loser there is nothing in there saying it can't be 10-10.

The rules guy at the post-show explained it prety clearly. 10-10 is hard to achieve.
One punch or kick that a guy has over the other can win the round.
There doesn't have to be a clear winner or loser, unfortunately.
Weakness of the system...
My binary, non-scoring way of watching the fight was:
Round 1: 0-0
Round 2: 0-0
Round 3: Woodley
Round 4: Probably Thompson
Round 5: Woodley
His scoring reflects how I'd expect the fight to typically be scored though.
He was probably thinking oh shit, gut feeling - I can't let WB win after Woodley almost finished him. I've already scored the previous rounds, so best I can do is tie with a 10-8 5th round.
Rules guy said 10-8 was a bad score for the 5th, since it happened so late in the round.
Yet, Woodley almost finished him... Need to see the definition of a 10-8 round...
