Scott Bessac OG MMA/Lion’s Den AMA

Canals was a poser lil bitch. He took my submission classes then got into extreme challenge and other shows by saying he was a lion’s den fighter. He never asked to be jumped in and was never thought of as just another student who actually sucked and caved with any pressure. So my real thoughts on him are fuck off you lil wannabe bitch

Fair enough.

Just the truth brother. Plain and simple

Out of everybody on here you have been the most respectful, wanting to learn and just an all around great guy to have a conversation with. I want you to know how much that really means to me. It’s nice not being who everybody thinks I am. With you I am just Scott and we are chopping it up. Thank you my brother. :love_you_gesture:

Truth be told Ken didn’t like frank at all. None of us OG’s did. Frank is damn lucky that’s all that happened to him. Ken was looking to end him…

All these years later and I definitely still remember you and somehow am likely to never forget. I wish someone had told me then those would be some of the best experiences of my life.

Me too brother me too. Ken and I just figured one day SWAT would raid the Den and we would all go to prison. Not in a million years did we ever think it would become the biggest sport on the planet. Lol

his original name was banned years ago, as was his second and third.

Hi Scott, great thread! What was the view of the Den fighters about Royce’s win over Ken in UFC 1?

Was it a case of acknowledging Royce’s skill / him being the better fighter on that day, or was the feeling more that Ken should have beaten him but made a mistake etc?

Thanks

What myself and the fighters thought was what the fuck was that. We saw Ken wasn’t wearing his wrestling shoes so we knew they wouldn’t allow them. But then this little fucker brings some heavy duty canvas outfit in with a huge belt tied on it. So then and still now I call bullshit. If I fought 100 fights in the UFC and every fight you game me a big ,thick, long canvas rope. I guarantee you I would end every fight inside 2mins. Royce choked Ken with his collar lapel thing which is worse its like a Garrett put it on a pull. So if the Gracies wanted to have knive fights, stick fighting like the dog brothers I would have been Hella down for all that but see we would have known what fight you were in. UFC1 I want to know why Royce allowed to bring a weapon into the cage? You can call it a gi,pajamas, whatever but it’s still a weapon pure and simple Royce capitalized on it.either absolutely nothing that could even be somehow used as a weapon or nothing.shoes, trucks go and fight. That my view

Thanks for the response, and for answering our questions.

It’s great and surreal to be sat the other side of the planet talking to someone who was around at the start of MMA

I remember watching you fight in the early UFC.

Did Royce use the gi? I just went back and watched it again, from the angles I’m viewing, it doesn’t look like he’s throwing in an Ezekial type sleeve grip. Enjoyed this thread. I didn’t remember the name but I remembered your face as soon as I hit up Google.

Wait no, I believe Scott was specifically referring to the choke.

If I remember correctly Royce did use his lapel to secure the choke. The angle kind of hid it but you can see him grabbing it. At least that’s what it looked like to me. I’ll have to look again.
