Ask whatever you want my brother, guys like you that are legit fans and fighters should know the truth not just what someone wants you to believe is the truth
Cool man, thanks.
Well I asked a few, and they might be a little long-winded.
But yeah if you keep answering I’ll keep asking!
I mostly laugh at myself. I decided I could complain all the time or just make fun of myself all day. So when I find my wallet in the freezer and my kicks in the oven I laugh alot.for me dealing with a retard(me) is a full time job of where the fuck did I buy this and when and where. 1🦄
No don’t remember that. Ken and I were to strong for him to ever submit Ken or myself. Oleg got frustrated and later in interviews said that rollin with guys on a bunch of steroids is not productive and doesn’t help you work on getting better.Oleg was all heart would die in the ring but his grappling and stand up was slow methodical and easy to predict. Right before I left I caught him in a tongue hold he didn’t tap so I said fuck it and started to break it. He hit me straight in the jaw cracked both molars and face cranked me beyond acceptable. I tapped blood pouring out my mouth, jeff masalgia goes that was a lil rough Ken. Ken sez fuck that he was going to break my ankle and I said you could’ve tapped he said I don’t tap. That’s the closest I ever saw someone
Thread is loading weird.
I don’t see all the posts but the post count keeps going up.
Had to exit site and and log back in to reset.
A little confused, it was Ken or Oleg you were rolling with that hit you?
golly
Oh Ken for sure, sorry. Oleg would have hit me I’d have beat him stupid til everyone could pull me off him.
So nobody ever came closer than you to subbing Ken?
He was THAT dominant?
How were the sparring sessions with Mo Smith?
Also, were you around for the discussions when Ken decided to take a kickboxing fight with Lobeman?
What was his motivation to do that??
Scott,
I’ve been in and around since 1993,and I have never heard of a tongue hold. Are you just squeezing the tongue or applying pressure?Help me out here please.
In the beginning he really fucked everybody everyday. Over the yrs I learned and Ken and I strength made things a better playing field. After I almost caught him he never rolled with me again. Nobody else even got close.
Did you have any unusually competitive gym rivals?
Like somebody that you knew every time you rolled, you were both really going to take it out of eachother?
Were there any gym rivalries that stood out among the other guys?
This is something people overlook… the strength factor.
If I am just good at something on a basic level – but I am significantly stronger than my opponent – that strength is a big boost to even the most basic techniques.
Who is the strongest guy you ever fought or rolled with?
I beat everyone as hard as I could. I enjoy hurting men so to completely dominate and hurt even a teammate for me was my goal everyday. In the End Frank and I had beef but he spilt.
Speaking of Frank…
Do you really think he got THAT much better with The Alliance (Mo Smith and TK)?
I am of the opinion that The Lions den laid the foundation – and while Frank might have improved a little with The Alliance – he still owed most of his success to that foundation with the Lions Den.
I ask this because many Frank fans seem to think he somehow got to another level by switching it up – and from my observation I tend to disagree.
For me strength and brutality were my go to tools. Ken by far and also Maurice Smith, his legs were so strong being in his guard it was hard to breathe cuz he locked em so tight
I like that old saying “he knows how to throw his weight around”.
With all the technique and “sport” aspect that is modern MMA, some of these basic truths tend to get lost in the conversation.
I don’t think he switched anything up. To me he was just some dude that had nothing that I even thought about and talk than talent
I think maybe Mo helped give him the cardio focus.
Historically, Mo, Frank, and Tito get a lit of credit for cardio.
But then again, Ken was always big on conditioning, and in the 90s was no slouch cardio wise…
All the LD guys were in great shape.
Of course this is just my outside observations.
