I'm a very sensitive person and I don't feel like Eddie won.--I'm not saying he didn' win-- I'm just saying show us some proof from an INDEPENDENT source that's not connected with ADCC. That's all.
If you watch that match it's clear that --at least parts of it- were in fact filmed on a sound stage with NO AUDIENCE present. You can hear crowd sounds but don't see a crowd. Maybe I'm dumb here, but all I see is an ocean of black when I look beyond those mats.
Also, if that match was in 2003 --the year The Matrix Reloaded & Lord of the Rings came out-- then WHY does the footage look like it was filmed with 1982 Betamax camcorder...? Kinda seems to me like someone maybe didn't want the footage to be super clear.
I'm not even getting into stuff like the Impossible referee's shadows which defy all known laws of physics, or the so-called "Royler Gap" where for long stretches of the match you can't see Royler's face and consequently no one is able to actually verify if that it's even him.
I think a proper starting point for constructive discussion would be a good faith concession on the part of ADCC that, yes --for whatever reasons-- PARTS of that match were in fact filmed at a different date.
Without that concession, then there's really no basis on which to move discussion forward.
Similar to what Stanley Kubrick did with his film The Shining, in his song Jiu Jitsu (Smoke Serpent) Eddie Bravo CLEARLY admits to a faked "smoke & mirrors" type jiu jitsu event of some kind. That is in fact what the song is about...
The song literally starts off with an oath of loyalty to the Gracies and talks about the Gracie familiy coming first and how they:
"Taught the world to swing that double edged sword"
He tells the listener:
"Refuse to see beyond the lines? You'll go blind"
Then the chorus is a straight repetition of an admission of some kind:
"We did it mama, we did it / we did it for the love of the game. / We did it mama we did it. / I did it. I did it for --"Jiu Jitsu!)."
Then it just gets even more blatant with:
"Yo, it's a motherfucking alliance" & "two clans fighting under the same banner"
Etc., etc.,etc
So, WHY would Eddie Bravo put out a song describing a faked jiu jitsu tournament /event of some kind, and detail a secret alliance with the Gracies?
I don't know. I'm just the one asking some questions many of us seem to have.
