Elimate the rule all together. This is fighting and a sport. If a person is in a position where they may take significan damage, they need to get out of it or the contest will be stopped (either by KO/TKO or ref stoppage). Seriously, the hands down knees down arguments drive me crazy. Let the guys/girls fight.
