The guy is super talented, everyone knows how good he is - when he was at Jackson's he was doing unbelievable...his only slip up while he trained there was the Lauzon fight (and the majority of his time for that camp was spent in Florida). Personally, I think he'd do a lot better if he went back to Jackson's.
He isn't that talented.
He is good but not that talented.
I think he has bad hole's in his game that he can't fix regardless of camp...I think it has to do more with himself than the actual camp.
strikeforce. send him there.
overstander - strikeforce. send him there.
There's actually a couple good fights there for him.
Meh. Hes athletic but not much else. Jackson could help him not be quite as big a headcase but it wont win him every fight.
I dont think Jackson would have kept Melvin from being kicked in the face last night.

Nah, he can be sort of a lower tier gate keeper.

Not saying that at all, Donald is a bad ass - I just think Mslvin could do better at Jackson's. I'm not satin hell become champ - but he'll be top 10 again.
Why do people keep saying he is so talented, wasted talent etc.
He doesn't seem any stronger, faster, more athletic and definitely not more technical than most LW out there. I don't see it.
Is it because he is black and cut? Is it just a blind assumption of blackleticism? His most impressive win was punching the fat cake filled gut of Gabezilla. Big deal!
Greg should not even accept him back. This is a a case where his worse op is is his own self. He was actually making progress under Greg Jacksons tutelage, till the rocket scientists at Blackzilions, offered him $, poached him, and ruined his career.
He goes for the kill every time. He still can't beat Gil in SF.
no, jacksons mma is overcrowded and you dont get enough attention. Blackzilians is good camp. He was doing great but like always he fumbles before the finish line.
He has not been as impressive his last few fights.

We are in agreement then.
Is anyone else tired of hearing about Melvin Guillard?

Blackzilians might be a good camp, but that doesn't mean it is a good fit for everybody.
Melvin was 5-0 when he was training full-time at Jackson's, and has gone 1-3 since he started training in Florida (part-time for the Lauzon fight, full-time since). The environment is obviously not helping him.
The impression I get from Blackzilians is that it is a 'Fighter-oriented camp' where the fighters themselves run the show and the coaches are just employees. Some guys can thrive in that environment. Others need a more traditional structured setting where the coach is God and what he says goes. Melvin appears to belong in the latter group.
