So I remember years ago (I forget when, like two incarnations of the forum ago where all you saw on the front page was the top UG threads and the top OG threads) someone (I forget who) was predicting which martial art/background would quickly see a surge in success in the UFC.
They predicted Muay Thai would be the next big thing.
Now, with a #1 contender in Jiri, a former muay thai champion, the LHW champion Jan, a former (amateur) muay thai champion. Valentina Shevchenko, WFLW champion, former muay thai champion and even Ciryl Gane, a former muay thai fighter, now at the top of the HW division.
So, whoever you are, I don’t know if you’ll even read this, but you were pretty right, nice job. Muay thai has definitely seen a surge in the UFC. Shoutout to you.
