Very well rounded for his time especially, and a hell of a showman and spectacle as well. He was the total package. 
I'll never forget watching him roll at the westside submission tournament in Irvine, must have been 2001. No one at our gym seemed to know who he was when we walked in, and he just ran through everybody. Chris Brennan was reffing and I remember Chris laughing and shaking his head in disbelief at the submissions that he pulled off that day.
He was really nice and humble, and seemed to appreciate just being able to compete.

Joe Stevenson was there also but I think he was only there to support his teammates.
