1)We saw 30 seconds of Silvas hands and people are comparing him to world class Boxers... to you I say, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
2)He beats Chris Leben and people are saying he needs to jump to 205 and beat Liddell... to you I say, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
3)He beats a B level 185er and people are already saying he will mop the floor with Rich Franklin and any other 185 lb UFC fighter... to you I say, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
4)People who thought Leben was invincible are now calling Silva the next champ... to you I say, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
In short, he won a single fight in 45 seconds by an impressive KO, Lebens hands werent up, his defense wasnt up to par and he was slow throwing punches. I like Silva and I think him and Franklin will be a good fight, but I'd like to see him beat The Crow and Evan Tanner first.
Rich and Silva will come soon to a UFC near you, but he needs to work up the ladder. Which he will do just fine I believe.
I think Silva can beat anyone at 85 other than Franklin in the UFC. Franklin's size might be to much for him though. Horn/Silva II would be good but that won't happen. What are some good matchups for Silva? Tanner? I hope not for Evan's sake. David Terrell? The Crow/Silva could be a sick fight.
i agree with everything except climbing the ladder.
for some stupid reason joe silva likes "the classic striker vs grappler matchup", and it wastes good talented strikers and makes for a boring fight. i guarantee you they would put him against lister or terrell. and he would get subbed.
so i say put him against rich now so we can this hellatious stand up war, before it is too late. zuffa make it happen!!!!
Silva was the model of precission. I think every shot he threw made it through Leben's hands and on to his face. Leben made it easy though, with horrible defense.
That fight doesn't say much, except that Silva is to be reckoned with. I think he'll pick apart The Crow worse than Franklin did. Then I'd like to see him and Rich. Franklin by sub in the 2nd or 3rd.

crowd....it will be a Pride vs. UFC bragging rights match which is utterly
insane. Are we gonna have to go through all this stuff when Pulver fights

Im suprised they gave Silva to Leben... like who did he piss off. Anderson is a seasoned fighter in his prime now... now way was Leben ready for him
man, Chris was down after the third punch.. i counted something like 25 punches and 1 kick and 1 knee in thet fight and silva missed ONCE! thats a wicked thrown/connected percentage!!
did anyone else notice that Silva was listed at 5'11", the same as Leben? He appeared to be at least 3 inches taller with like a 31 inch waist. Finally, the titanium of Leben's chin wore off.
