“The one thing I have in my mind is: Werdum showed the world [Fedor’s] holes on the ground. I think his main weakness is there,” Silva said during Thursday’s media conference call to promote Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Silva” on Feb. 12 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J.
“It’s very hard to define how the fight’s gonna be. I’m gonna follow the waves, and if the fight’s good for me in the stand-up, I’m gonna keep it standing up,” Silva added. “He’s a complete fighter. I’m a complete fighter. I’m going to capitalize on anything the fight gives to me.”
One factor the 6-foot-4, 265-pound Silva already has plans to capitalize on is his significant size advantage over Emelianenko, who stands 6-foot and weighed in for the Werdum bout at 229 pounds.
“I’m gonna try to take advantage of my weight. If I hit certain positions, I think he’s gonna feel it,” Silva said.
Lol fedor is great on the ground, fedor got excited and prob got confident bout being in the guard due to the belong he gave nog...if big foot gunna try to take him down he's gonna run into the Fedor storm
Fedor got subd by an adcc champ whod sub every hw in mma, fedor has subd may of the best and jumped into nogs dangerous guard ans smashed nog from there. Fedor made a simple mistake in the werdum fight and got subd for it
I always thought Fedor's strength was his ground game. He is a world champion in sambo isn't he? I'm pretty sure beating Nogueira does say something about his ground game.
JustSaying - man, if Fedor ends up on his back, he's either sweeping and finishing via GnP or pilling an armbar from guard like he did against every other larger opponent. <img src="/images/phone/post_tag.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>
I don't think fedor has been put on his back by a 265lb bjj expert.

this is the truth.... if it happens, it will be a new experience and test for Fedor for all of us to witness.
Of course- Fedor is very good at not ending up on the bottom before it hits the ground... or sending it to the ground before his opponent even attempts to do so. I hope this trend continues.
He almost has as many submission wins as Silva has total fights. Yeah, the ground is obviously Fedor's "main weakness". Big Foot needs to stop being a noob.
Fedor is my favorite fighter, but I seriously lol at all the people saying Fedor is just gonna armbar Bigfoot. I think hes gonna win but hes not subbing bigfoot off his back.
