UFC champion Anderson SilvaSilva's manager, Ed Soares, told MMAjunkie.com Radio that he doesn't take offense at Middleweight contender Chael Sonnen's attacks, even though he's been targeted in some of the tirades.
"As far as Chael talking all the crap that he's talking, hey, Chael kind of struck a nerve that people are paying attention to. Unfortunately, before he started talking about Anderson, no one really paid attention to Chael. Now that he talks about Anderson, people are paying attention to him. God bless him. Good. Keep talking."
"A lot of people talk about Anderson Silva. A lot of people talk about what they're going to do to him. This isn't the first time, and I'm sure it's not going to be the last time people say what they're going to do to Anderson Silva once they get in the ring. That's great. Before the fight, everyone has a mouth, and you can say what you want. But for some strange reason, when the octagon door closes, and you're standing across from Anderson Silva, a lot of those things that you're saying kind of go right out the door."
"Maybe Chael's got a different strategy or something different, but I think it's going to end up like the rest of the people who have talked about it. Chael said he's going to put him on his back – [Anderson] has never fought a fighter like that. Well, maybe he hasn't fought an exact fighter like Chael, but he's fought some great wrestlers such as Dan Henderson, and he submitted him."
"The truth of the matter is I can guarantee you that Chael has never fought a guy like Anderson Silva. Never. Not even close. He can talk all he wants. Let's just keep promoting this fight, and on Aug. 7, we'll see who walks out with the belt."
"To be honest with you, I actually like Chael. He's always been really cool, but he's taking this thing really personal. That's OK. Whatever he's got to do to get in his mind to motivate him to really want to fight Anderson."
"Hey, a fight's a fight, and anything can happen. Good luck to Chael. I like Chael. He's not a bad guy. He's promoting the fight. If he's got to make this personal to get him motivated to fight, I want to see Chael."
"I want Chael to be the best Chael he's ever been because I know Anderson is going to be, and that way there's no excuses. May the best man win."

HEY SOARES SHUT YOUR FUCKING PIE HOLE!
Chael's gonna smoother Anderson and wear him down...then dish out a good old fashioned ass whooping
Weather the storm for 2 rounds with TD's and as much GnP, top control he can muster...
Then in rd's 3-5 TD, and vicious GnP
Chael wins UD
Sonnen always has something to say... Not sure why it's such a big deal. Before the Filho fight he used to say that he would put a picture of Filho in his shoe every morning so he could step on Filho's face all day. It's funny, and it's just hype. You guys take things too personally.
Silva is badass and this is a tough fight for Sonnen. On the flip side, Chael has outstanding wrestling with a penchant for messing guys up with his GnP (Marquardt). Then again, Silva's best sub seems to be his triangle (Lister) which has proven to be a weakness of Sonnen's (Horn).
All in all this could be an awesome fight and Sonnen is adding fuel to the fire. Personally, I can't wait to see it. Good on him for hyping the fight. Hyping = PPV dollars = dollars for the fighters whose fights get watched.
Is Soares still ducking CRE?
You guys are kidding yourselves imo. Chael brings nothing to this fight that Silva hasn't already faced a better version of.
Chael on the other hand, meh do your own homework and just look at his record and who has beaten him. My hat's off to him, beating Okami and Marquardt were good wins imo.
I just don't see him being able to grind out a decision against Anderson Silva, he's just got too many weapons and ways to finish a fight.
Soares should be thanking God for Sonnen, and praying to God too. Praying not for the outcome of the fight, but because his MW Champion Anderson Silva is actually in a main event instead of a co-main event with another champion that can actually draw, e.g. BJ Penn.
Someone needs to sell the fight and Anderson isn't a PPV draw. So yes, Soares should be thanking God for Sonnen's mouth because high pitched soft-spoken Portuguese and dance routines don't sell PPVs in NA.
If it were up to Anderson to sell the PPV by himself it would take place in a church basement and the only people there would be Sonnen's friends and family.
2JupitersTooMany - Is Soares still ducking CRE?
^exactly that.
guy has got a big mouth talking about a ufc middleweight but not so tough talking about ug superstar cre

I'm assuming that you either text too much or English is at least your 3rd language.
"I think he's just talking nonsense. He is not even a real challenger to Anderson. I think other fighters have done much more in the division, such as Dan Henderson, Nate Marquardt, whom he won against, Demian Maia, who played with (Sonnen) like a child, and Vitor Belfort. He is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. He will take a beating from Anderson, who will beat him like a child, will beat his ass and will shut his mouth. He has no qualifications to compete for the belt -- that's the truth. He doesn’t have good boxing or ground, only good wrestling. Anderson is on another level. He hopes that Anderson will lose his control and blow up. It’s the only chance he has since Anderson is technically much better than him."

Serious question. Has Sonnen ever stopped anyone with GNP? I don't recall any particular fight where that happened....
Where Sonnen has the real chance is unlike Henderson, who couldn't stick to the gameplan & gasses, Sonnen is TD - GnP rinse and repeat...
He can take a hell of a beating, and he has great cardio... he's got a very good chance in this fight

LOL - it's true, Chael may be a hard blue collar workin fighter and hats off to him for generating buzz around the fight and his number one condender status but I don't see him doing a damn thing to the Spider... I just hope Anderson KO's him cold and/or punish him for talking and not blow his wad before he's done like he did against Maia...
