Don't believe me??????
Just tune to ShowTime and you will see.
And then get ready......Cause I'm coming back
in here and telling you all........"I TOLD you so"
Daley has a very good shot. Good takedown defense, elite striking, he will be very dangerous. He's much more technical than some of the brawlers that Nick has outboxed before like Scott Smith and a young Robbie Lawler. KJ Noons was able to tag Diaz standing, so I don't see why Daley won't be able to, and Daley hits a lot harder than KJ.
Diaz does have one of the best chins in the sport. It will be interesting to see if it can standup to Daley's power. Diaz definitely has more all around skills, but his weaknesses(wrestling and takedowns), may put him right in the fire with Daley.
I don't think you're all that unique in thinking Daley has a very strong chance of winning this fight. Maybe not that much of a "I told you so" moment as you'd like to think.
Diaz will win
RickMartelsArrogance - I'll TTT this in a few hrs when Nick makes Daley look like an amateur.
Daley very recently struggled with a 155er in Masvidal. Nick will wreck his world.<br type="_moz" />
Rick, (can I call you Rick?), do you think at the very least that this will be an interesting style matchup, or do you think it's a straight blowout for Diaz?
^^^Oh and I think you could make the same statement about Diaz struggling with Cyborg(a lesser striker then Daley), until Cyborg stupidly shot in for a takedown.
On a side note, I do think Diaz would have been able to outlast him regardless, but it's tough to dispute that Cyborg has some success in the standup in that fight.
No worries dude, these threads never backfire.

Straight blowout. The first rd might be close, but Daley never has had a good gas tank. Nick will take him into deep water and make him wilt. Daley's only chance is a bomb in the 1st...even then, I don't see Nick being clean KOd and Daley's dumb enough to dive right into Nick's guard if he drops him.
The landed strikes count will be something like
Diaz = 350
Daley = 35
Fair enough. I'm very intriqued by this matchup myself. Interesting to see how it goes down.
Wow. That was a fight. One of the best rounds in years.
