Superman vs Doomsday

Am I the only one interested in the Hallman/Howard fight?

Howard seems to be a little under-rated. He's had two super-tough matchups in the UFC and won them both. He also had that epic fight with the much bigger Dan Miller back in the day. Even though he lost a decision, Miller left the ring on a stretcher.

Hallman's on a roll, and I feel like they're grooming him for another fight with Hughes. But I don't see him winning this one.

Anyway, it's sure to be a better fight than Jones vs Mitrione.

Doom by TKO in 2.

I thought you said Superman/Doomsday?

 I'm picking Doomsday here.

Dennis "Superman" Hallman vs John "Doomsday" Howard. A creative bit of matchmaking by Mr. Silva.

Jason Dooms Day is the only doomsday I know.

He's good too. Respect to anyone who can finish a fight via Twister.

tooling Alan Belcher in his debut isn't that shabby either.

I always thought he would make the drop to 170. Not sure if he can make that cut, though.

Dennis can make anyone look really bad on any given night. I see this fight as Howard's ground defense vs Hallman's stand-up.

Contrary to popular belief - Dennis can fight on his feet. He hasn't in the past because he's generally been SO much better than his opponents on the ground he's not utilized it much.

For me, this boils down to Hallman's game plan, and then his ability to stick to it. It's his fight to lose.

Interesting.

Hallman's been pretty inconsistent throughout his career. And Howard is no easy mark. Even his losses were hard-fought. So what do you think Hallman's game plan is for this one? I imagine he'll work for the clinch, where he'll look for takedowns.

I see Doom wearing Hallman down to earn the TKO.

thats great

good fight

Hallman may have a really hard time getting Doom to the mat and I think he'll learn early on yhat he doesn't want to stand with Doom. The kid is super athletic and has really fast hands. He didn't showcase his skillset acurately in the tamden fight.

Doom by TKO.

iirc Howard actually fractured Miller's orbital bone in that fight, which is why Miller went to the hospital immediately afterwards. The fact that Miller kept fighting and won a decision after the injury is a testament to how tough the Miller brothers are.

Howard has excellent standup and underrated wrestling and ground. I would lean towards him in this match - I'm a Hallman fan, but he's a frustrating fighter to be a fan of. He's inconsistent and his conditioning never seems to be there when he needs it most.

Veegoh -

As dope as this pic is, why is superman looking off in the distance as he is throwing a punch. As much detail as there is in this pic, how did the artist look this

Never a bad choice. Good luck Doomsday. I wonder when he got his name..

I expect the fight to end with Dennis Hallman vs John Howard landing simultaneous power punches, killing them both.  Several fake Dennis Hallmans will appear shortly thereafter (including cyborg Dennis Hallman, a black Dennis Hallman in  a steel power suit, and Dennis Hall-boy).  Eventually, the real Dennis Hallman will return with long hair.

John Howard will also come back somehow, but by then I will have lost interest.

Agreed.

When's your next fight, John? I know there's a show on Dec. 19 with some of the WK guys on the card...

I have to think his gp includes winning on the ground. I hope he doesn't burn himself and I hope he has a solid Plan B if that early sub doesn't land. I don't expect he'll spend a lot of time or energy working for legs/ankles once he starts getting punched, especially considering Howard's familiarity with leg attacks. Hallman may not be able to take Howard down, but he can frustrate him on the feet long enough for Howard to take it to the ground. Dennis wouldn't mind being on his back.
