Surviving the "Knockout Game" (Gracie Breakdown)

In this Special Edition Gracie Breakdown, Rener Gracie and Eve Torres share some critical self-defense principles everyone should know in order to defend against the growing trend of vicious unprovoked assaults by cowardly teenagers. Obviously, harsher punishment would reduce the frequency of these deadly assaults, but until that happens, everyone must learn how to break the "Triangle of Victimization" in order to reduce the risk of being targeted. Please share this video with all your friends and loved ones, together we may very well save a life.

Thanks, voted you up.

Unless this shows one of the Gracie's ducking a punch and outrunning a group of teenagers I have to question how effective it is. Phone Post 3.0

Bozzy - Growing trend I've seen the same 8-10 videos re-lapped over and over again by all media. Videos that date over 2+ years ago. It's only a trend when mainstream media claims and makes it one.

The Gracie's are just striking while the irons hot here and getting in on the trend more so for profit than they are concerned about people's well being. Every video Rener is telling you to buy this DVD referencing that DVD, buy this shake, buy my patented smoothie.

All their videos just seem like one big infomercial influenced by hot topics or big/controversial events that will surely nab views. Their techniques are dated they can't really point to one Gracie that is making waves in MMA right now. If someone strikes you from range, you aren't going to be able implement BJJ until you actually get them to the ground. If you can't take them down your BJJ is useless.

People don't wear sturdy Gi's to grab a hold of and to gain leverage from. So a lot of these techniques become obsolete when they're thrown in a scenario they've only trained a certain way for.
Did you watch the video? The main topic they stress is to be aware of your surroundings. They do not stress engaging in grappling to much beside closing the distance.
Rener has done a lot of good informing people of self defense over the years. If he feels the need to push the family business,so what. Phone Post 3.0

everyone bitching about it has not watched the video at all

they talk more about awareness than bjj

they do not actually try to sell anything on it.

as far as the videos being old or not. i guess the vet who died the other week from the KO game was not video taped

Just mix in a few ninja wolfman moves and you could take on a whole army Phone Post 3.0

Great video but it really could have been about 6 minutes long. VU for public awareness.

you may be right, but from what seen, they believe in what they do,they have put ppl before money more times then I could count.the money just comes with it.

What they say makes sense and is pretty much how you would go about not getting attacked by a random group of people. Most people would do these things instinctively if they were worried about this, but I'm sure it's nice to have it spelled out in extreme detail if you're unsure how to go about avoiding getting knocked out by groups of teens. I don't think this is a real problem anywhere, but if it is, I'm sure it's because of the attention it's getting in the news. Since the Gracie brand primarily revolves around self defense, it only makes sense that they would make a video about a heavily trending news item that is directly related to their field.
