pancrase had rope escapes, grab the rope, its like a tap, but u lose a point and the fight continues. u had 5 to lose iirc. hope nobody else typed this already...
DLfromCanada - lots of variations here though
for example sub grappling....no points, most taps wins in a given time period
Judy stop it please... this thread has gone far enough.
Fail is just trolling and doing his whole WWF shit.
pitbu11y -Fuck yourselfortman166 - That's fucking retarded, dumbest thing I've ever fucking heard, so should ko's just be 10-8 rounds? Get out. Chaels an idiot, but even he doesn't really believe that shitCalm down homo
ANT_P1989 - That's dumb as FUCK! Those agreeing are just as dumb. Say you're up 4 rounds to 0, all I gotta do is tap in round 5 to hurry and end it and get the win by points? This
Dumb idea is idiotic....

this guy is on point, thanx
This is so dumb. So...if you tap a dude in the first 2 rounds, you can come out for the 3rd round and immediately tap yourself and you win. You could do the same thing if you won the first 3 rounds of a championship match. Dumb.

My explanation was better. If you tap a guy at any point in the fight then you win. The guy gave up, it's over.
The above reasoning is not as good because... if for some reason the AC decided to adopt a rule that alllowed for a tap to equal a 10-8 round then I would have no problem with a guy who consecutively tapped his opponent in the first two rounds feeling as if he had already won the fight and having the right to just go out there and end the fight with a quick tap in the third. He made the guy quit twice already. He deserves to win.
The bottom line is anyone who thinks that a tap should not equal a victory is dumb.
thus is f'ning hilarious. Chael's why of saying he beat silva.
The funniest thing isn't Chael say this as he's obviously joking, it's that some people are hanging on so tightly to his ballsack that they actually think this is a good idea.
I'm starting to think Chael is having more fun trolling his followers than he is the haters. Like he sits and says things probally laughing himself silly just to watch the helmet wearing sheep run with it. Who is the joke really on? I don't exactly like all the things he says but to hear him say he is the real champ and then see people go with that? Just lol

So if you submit someone and they tap you don't win the fight? That is dumb. Everyone would simply stand and wang as a then a KO is the only way to finish.
Idiocracy
Thats fucking stupid. Ypu cpuld dominate two rounds then tap out at the beginning of the 3rd for a quick win.
To many variables
A huge flaw in the idea; what prevents a fighter ( lets say frank Mir) from actually holding on to the sub for an extra second or two, or attempting a sub with the intention to break the arm?
In a 3 round fight a 10-8 is devastating. In a 5 round fight, when you are sure you have lost the first 4 rounds a 10-8 does nothing.
