<p>Today it was revealed the newly crowned UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has signed a new contract with the promotion:</p>
It's good to be the champ.
Following her impressive fifth-round submission victory over Holly Holm to become the bantamweight champ at UFC 196, Miesha Tate has signed a new deal with the UFC.

Sounds pretty common occurrence, unless the fighter already had championship bumps worked in their current contracts.
Like Anderson Silva for example. If he somehow wins the belt I dont think they'll need to negotiate anything.
