The IFL just dropped a bombshell. They have a new team on their roster, Team Bomb Squad. Gary Marino is managing the team, and the coach is Ryan Ciotoli. Their debut with the IFL will be on May 16th at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Team Bomb Squad will be facing Mario Sperry's World Class Fight Center, with Bomb Sqaud members Mike Massenzio and John Howard fighting at middleweight and welterweight respectively. Gary and Ryan are still determining who is going to be their lightweight representative. Also, Team Bomb Squad will be represented at next Friday's ILF event in NJ, at the Izod center, where Brendan Barret will be fighting Alex Schoenauer, and Nate Lamotte will be fighting Chris Horodecki.

I had a chance to speak with Gary Marino about the new fight team.

Gary, congrats bro!

Thanks, Garv. We're very excited about Team Bomb Squad.

I know you are not quite done putting the team together. How do you go about finding talent?

There's a ton of talent in the Northeast, so many great fighters. Creating this team was a way to feature some of those guys, who really deserve a chance to shine. We already have guys like Mike Massenzio and John Howard, and there's just so much talent in the area.

New York seems poised to legalize MMA now.

Oh yeah, definitely. And that's going to open up an even bigger talent pool. We're looking for guys from all over the Northeast. That's not a requirement, of course, we're willing to work with any good fighter, but the Northeast is where we're at and the pool of talent is very deep.

What do you expect from your team?

We expect to win, baby!

Thanks, Gary!

I will be talking more with Gary in the near future about the team and the fighters. Also, I am scheduled to speak with the Team Bomb Squad coach, Ryan Ciotoli, early next week, along with some of his fighters. I will be discussing the IFL, and also BCX4, which takes place on April 19th at the Tropicana in AC. Ryan has several fighters competing at BCX 4, and I'll be talking to all of them, so stay tuned!!
