Those regions produced a lot of very good wrestlers during the communist era. Stepan Sarkissian, Gogi Kougashvili, and a lot of others. The Soviet system took the best from everywhere and trained them very well. Then after the fall they started spreading out. Armen Nazarian left for Bulgaria and others started going. Sissaouri was a Soviet era Georgian who won an Olympic silver for Canada.

Again just like judo. In judo though, it’s much more popular in Europe where France is now the #2 country for both men and women and there are champs from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Germany, Poland etc. Champs from Spain and Greece have come from Georgian migration. Most of the Russians are from the Caucasus region as well.
Cuba is ok in judo, stronger on the womens side. Iran has had one world champ that I know of, South Korea was #2 or 3 a decade or 2 ago but has faded. Japan is still the boss in both mens and womens but weren’t as strong in perhaps the late 90s/early 2000s?
The Georgian and Mongolian folk wrestling styles are with vests so a bit closer to judo than wrestling I’d say.
